Vista Lario

I have been to Italy and Europe many times, and each time I try to book places that are better than the last. In this case, I could not have planned it any better. This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed in and is a must for anyone going to Lake Como. The pictures do not do it justice- it was even more amazing than I expected. The whole experience, from Nicolas meeting me to help carry our groups bags to the top and the communication with the property manager was top notch. 6 adults easily and comfortably stayed here and are excited to come back again. Thank you for making this an incredible experience!

The drive. That is the only downside and that has nothing to do with the property, of course. We had a large van and driving in Italy is hard enough, it's even harder in this area because the roads are pretty narrow and there was construction/road closure on the day we left, so we had a pretty close encounter with getting the van stuck in an ally. Other than that, the place is incredible and sometimes the best places unfortunately are hard to get to.

We loved the doors that all opened onto the large terrace. I enjoyed the bath tub with a view. There was so much natural light and it felt peaceful. The colors of the home were perfect for rest and relaxation. Well done! Would love to know where to find the kitchen tile please?

We were given only 2 sets of towels for 3 bathrooms and 9 days at the home. We were also only given ONE dish towel for 9 days! When we requested at least 2 more sets of towels and another dish towel we were told that we were given a starter kit and we would need to make do. Honestly that was unacceptable for the length of stay and the kind of property this is a 3 bedroom/3 bath place. We were finally brought another set along with 2 bathrobes. Also there were LOTS of ants.

The property was beautiful. The photos didn’t do its justice. The view was breathtaking in winter, so I can’t imagine how it would look like in summer time. The property was clean and spacious and located in a charming town. The it is located on a steep incline but once up there you can see that it was worth the climb. Boats, ferries and taxi will connect you to the main towns. Would highly recommend.

The property is amazing with glorious views of Lake Como, comfortable beds and furnishings and a great kitchen. The arrival/access instructions were perfect, and the team was exceptionally responsive when we had a brief power outage over the weekend, helping us resolve the issue immediately. We were particularly grateful that Giuseppe from Rent All Como met us at the parking spot and helped us up the hill to the apartment (he returned to help us on departure as well). The team was totally transparent about access to the property and we STRONGLY recommend packing light. It is a lovely walk up the hill but can be a challenge if you have heavy bags (thanks Giuseppe!!!). Also great restaurants and a wine bar nearby, and the Lake Como ferry provides regular service from Carate Urio.

It was a fabulous stay. The only challenges were related to the site (accessed by a steep cobblestone pathway), and to Carate Urio itself. The hairpin turns and narrow roads from the main highway to the village must be negotiated with care (bring a small car...)
