Peaceful and amazing surroundings

Peaceful setting. Woods were beautiful. Owner friendly and nice walk to peak of mountain nearby. Description just does not match property, so be aware when booking. No shower and no hot water heater or system of any kind connected (so not broken or a minor issue, but misleading advertising).

Unfortunately, there was no shower available, and no hot water at all. The shower itself wasn't actually even connected in any way, so this wasn't a minor issue that occurred and couldn't be fixed in time - there simply was no shower there. I'd have preferred to know this prior to staying and had price reflect lack of facilities, but absolutely no mention of the issue on check in! In fact, I received a message which explained how to operate the non-existent shower on the day of arrival, which was odd, given no water heater/shower connected. Heater in cottage was also very loud and made a beeping alarm type noise every time it clicked back on overnight (freezing, so needed it on). This wakes you up every 45bmin or so. As other guests have mentioned, there was a definite smell of old cigarettes and cigarette burns on the blankets, too.

The location was absolutely gorgeous, and the cabin was wonderfully cozy. It was perfect for a weekend getaway for the two of us. We do a lot of camping, so didn't mind using an outhouse (it's only a few steps from the front entrance). The location was more lovely and secluded than most campsites are. It's right on the property of a beautiful horse farm, but you'd hardly know it with how deep in the woods you are. We got in right at peak foliage time.
