Bryggen // Fløyen Apartments

great location. Walkable to Bryggen, the museum, the fish market, shopping and many restaurants. very clean. comfortable beds and very well equipped. Very nice bathroom.

The only thing that keeps this little apartment from a higher score is the stairs.. There are 2 flights of very narrow, steep stairs. Trying to get luggage up and down was quite tricky. In addition they are painted with a heavy gloss paint which makes them very slippery. We had one fall trying to get a bag down. If you are traveling light and have good knees perhaps not much of an issue for you.

The location is fantastic, quiet street, cery central. It's an old house that has been renovated beautifully, while retaining a lot of the original charm. Both the dining and lounge area were pleasant and cozy, perfect to kill some rainy hours and recover from travelling. The washer/dryer was very convenient and the bathroom is warm enough that we could easily dry more delicate fabrics overnight.

The original building comes with limitations, such as the narrow staircases and low attic bedrooms that are very apparent in the pictures. This wasn't an issue for us, but may be for people with difficulties in tight spaces or mobility issues.

The property had been newly renovated so was wonderfully new and clean. The house is old, adding to the charm of staying here. Location was excellent.

Perhaps the owners could make it clearer that the pictures and description are for two appartments in one house. We stayed downstairs which consists of a bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. The other apartment may be larger with a lounge as shown in the pictures. As we stayed for five days we were hoping for a washer and dryer. There wasn’t a dryer and it was a problem getting clothes dry on a drying rack as no real place to put it. Could I also suggest the owners ask the upstairs guests to remove their shoes and be mindful of people downstairs as this is an old house with no sound proofing. Maybe guests should enquire about which apartment you want before booking?

There was no ability to unpack suitcases as there was nowhere to put clothes. To have an apartment with no bedside table , no hanging space, drawers or cupboards is very unusual and frustrating when travelling . The bedroom was a tight space to get around the bed, especially as 2 enormous bean bags were in the corner of the room. The bean bags were the only soft seating in the apartment but due to their size were constantly being moved around. An unusual choice of furniture The apartment is small in area, and the only place to sit other than the bean bags was on high stools at a bench, which is by the window at street level. Either have the blind down with no light or be seen by all who pass by The bathroom configuration with a folding shower screen caused water to spray all across the floor. Used towels to mop up to prevent slipping. The shower did not produce hot water, only warm at best. The washing machine vibrated so much that items that we had stored on top ( due to limited storage in bathroom) fell off into the toilet. The listing said washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing facilities and drying rack were among the facilities . Only the washing machine was evident. On contacting the owner we were advised it was a washer /dryer. When we asked for instructions on how to use the dryer we received no reply. We then googled the machine to find it is a washing machine only. The other items ( iron and drying rack)we were told were not there. The list of facilities that an apartment has will be a factor in deciding whether to book. It is very disappointing that the facilities that are listed are not there. There is a lack of soundproofing between the apartment and the one above, not only did we hear every foot step but we could hear the murmur of conversations as well. The apartment looked like it had recently been renovated and the vibe was for appearance rather than practicality.

Very clean Kitchen with lots of equipments Really comfortables beds. The localization is perfect, near to the center. Door opens with a code given in a very clear document sent by email the day of arrival.

Narrow stairs to have our luggage with us in the bedrooms but it is the charm of the typical houses of Bergen

House is pretty downtown, walking distance from every main Bergen sight-seen. Easy check in with a door code. House completely restructured and furniture renewed. Kitchen well furnished. All clean. Host was always available.

We are a tall family and bedrooms ceiling isn't high enough to stand up completely.
