Maison Cat Ba Bay View Villa

Great hosts. Extremely friendly and welcoming. We booked all 4 bedrooms available. The rooms were big and beds comfortable. Trang helped with booking our next day cruise and bus journey back to Hanoi at reasonable rates. 200 mts to the Harbour. Cat Ba is a small town and so the restaurants are small in size. We ate at the Ali Baba next door and it was economical and good.

Trand and her husband were wonderful hosts for our extended family stay, We rented the whole villa and enjoyed a perfect balance of help/support and independence. Great breakfasts cooked for us but we could also use the fridge and kitchen independently. Quiet location away from much of the new development on the island, yet handy to walk to restaurants, supermarket in 10-15 minutes.

It’s way overpriced for what it is in my opinion. I had the most expensive room with the bay view and it doesn’t have an en-suite bathroom, so I had to leave my room to shower, use the toilet, etc. The AC didn’t work. Both nights I was there I did not sleep well due to noisy activities outside the building. The first was due to a large drone flying across the street for hours. It was actually a bit creepy. Second night there was a crying cat all night. I was also not happy with the recommended day cruise or the transportation service. I would have gladly paid a bit more for better experiences.

I had an amazing stay at Maison Cat Ba Bayview Villa. The breathtaking sea view, cozy atmosphere, and well-designed rooms made it a perfect retreat. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. A special thanks to Trang and Song for their warm hospitality. The entire team was friendly, attentive, and made me feel at home. Waking up to the ocean view was a highlight of my trip. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

The room was large and the bed was comfortable

Very odd place, seems to be under new management as the staff didn’t seem to know what room we had booked, nor did the breakfast live up to its description. In fact it was the worst breakfast, 1 egg with a white piece of bread. The location is weird, almost a 2km walk to downtown.

The property is located right across the lot where the cruises take off from. My room as nice, sunny and airy. However the stand out was the woman in charge while I was there. Her name is Trang and she was more than helpful and willing to be the best hostess. Her kind demeanor, smile and overall attitude is what stood out to me most. Any property would be lucky to have her.

My TV didn't work easily. Although I don't speak the language I like to have background noise on while working. Trang had someone come and fix it but the last night it once again stopped working.Also, the bathroom for my room wasn't en suite and so I had to go outside of my room to access it, but from what I can tell, this was only the case for my room.

Rooms are comfortable, clean, and offer basic amenities like air conditioning and Wi-Fi. However, sometimes the Wi-Fi can be faulty, especially in certain areas of the villa. I really like the vegetarian breakfast at Villa. If I have the opportunity to return, I will still come here.

If you love nature and peace then this place is for you. It is nestled in a quiet part of the island with lush surroundings. However, those looking for more modern amenities may find it lacking. Breakfast here is very rich, you can choose from English, Irish, Asian and vegetarian dishes. My family thanks the Villa manager for his guidance and enthusiastic support during our vacation and travel in Catba.
