Como Lake View AC and Garage

The balcony view is perfection and it was wonderful having a home to return to after a day out or days on the road. The apartment is spacious and cooking there was fun after eating out too often. The location is good to reach other lake towns and cities in northern Italy. Bus, train and ferry service is very close and accessible. Note: if you want to take the fast ferry (hydrafoil), you can only purchase the tickets on your travel day, and the lines can be really long. Villa Geno is directly below the balcony and you can watch weddings almost every day. Elisa and her mom went above and beyond, including delivering groceries and an important package. They felt like family immediately and answered many questions we had about local customs. For American tourists: make sure you obtain an international driving permit from AAA if you rent a car, and ask the car rental company how to pay tolls. Bellagio is a big attraction, but I highly recommend visiting the smaller towns like Moltrasio, Onno, Tremezzo and Cernobbio. They're all charming.

Although it's only 800 meters from Como town, it is a very steep uphill climb along narrow roads shared with buses and cars. Also, the walk from the gate to the building is probably another 50 meters uphill. A car is highly recommended, especially if you have mobility issues or are out of shape. A packet with general information would be great, i.e. how to use the TVs, garage remotes, the need for a local tax ID? and links to the bus, ferry and train schedules.

The location was excellent for visiting both sides of the lake, and it is close to the city center. Both the balcony and the master bedroom have a beautiful view of the lake.

The apartment was lovely and had plenty of amenities. During a 90+ degree heatwave it was so nice to come back to a cool and quiet place. AC worked great. Elisa was there to check us in and out. Even in the heat ,the terrace was cool in the mornings for breakfasts overlooking the lake and mountains. There was also a dedicated parking space.

We usually went to the city center by car as the road was very narrow in places and and seemed dangerous to walk.
