Castle View Hideaway in Lisbon

Despite the hosts being very friendly and the apartment having a beautiful view from the window, I would like to share some recommendations for improvement. The bathroom heater was very helpful because the bathroom was very cold, and it heats the space quickly. However, the socket in the bathroom does not work unless the heater is turned on, so I have no idea how girls are supposed to dry their hair in summer. The bathroom door also needs to be fixed — it is very difficult and uncomfortable to open. This was also mentioned in previous reviews and was not addressed. It would be better to have a TV with Netflix connected so guests can watch something in the evening. I would also recommend adding a projector in the bedroom — the space would be perfect for it. The coffee machine makes bad coffee, I would recommend replacing it with a more modern model, also the capsules for this one are very difficult to find. I also recommend adding a lockbox so guests can leave the keys there and avoid strict check-in limitations. Check-in until 10 PM is restrictive, as many travelers arrive later. Check-out at 10 AM is also too early — we had to wake up at 6 AM to pack and clean the apartment. I recommend that the owners take all of the comments above and below into consideration. If these issues are addressed, it would definitely be a place people would want to return to.

The first and main problem is mold. I understand that this is an issue in many buildings, but there is a large amount of mold directly above the bed — and you are breathing it in while sleeping. We stayed for 10 days, and closer to the end of our trip there was even more mold than at the beginning. I also recommend that the owners pay attention to the reviews and to what needs to be improved. Everything that previous guests mentioned as suggestions has not been taken into account. The pillows need to be replaced. The frying pans are in the condition shown in the photos, so if you plan to cook, be ready to consume your food together with damaged Teflon.The wardrobe in the bedroom smells strongly of oldness and dampness — all the clothes we kept there absorbed the smell and had to be washed. Next to the bed there is a lamp, but there is no socket nearby to plug it in. I recommend adding extension cords and fixing the sockets, as almost all of them are in poor condition. It was also disappointing that the host did not think about basic guest needs — there was no tea or coffee capsules in the apartment. Adding at least a few capsules costs nothing. I strongly recommend that the owners provide basic essentials for living and cooking. Overall, the apartment did not feel cozy. The furniture looks old, scratched, and worn, and the shower curtain has mold and needs to be replaced. Previous guests mentioned that 3 rolls of toilet paper for 4 days were not enough. We stayed for 10 days and were also left with only 3 rolls. Guests should not have to buy basic necessities. Paper towels and proper kitchen towels are a must.

Расположение прекрасное! До центра можно прогуляться пешком. 5 минут до метро (но от метро идти немного в гору, если с багажом, то лучше воспользоваться такси - оно в Лиссабоне доступное). Из окна прекрасный вид на замок Св. Георгия. В квартире чисто, есть обогреватели и кондиционеры, на кухне есть все необходимое.

Хотелось бы, чтобы температура горячей воды была выше.

Quiet area but only a 15-30 min walk to city centre.

Light in the bathroom kept flashing, shower wasn’t warm enough, very cold in the kitchen area. Better pillows needed in the 2 single beds in the living room.

All perfect except for a little bit of mold here and there in the corners which is quite normal during rainy days in winter.

Комфортна квартира у зручному тихому районі Лісабону, неймовірний вид з вікна. Власники турботливі та контакті, швидко відповідають. Дуже радимо

В апартаментах була лише сіль, ні чаю ні води ні кави, а ми зупинятись на 4 доби. Наступний у нашій поїзді був Порто, то там окрім стандартного набору( чай, кава) було локальне вино та печиво, дрібниця, але приємно.
