We were greeted with big smiles and a glass of fresh juice, which was much appreciated (special shout out to Mira, who was an absolute delight!). We were given a little introduction to the accommodation and how things run, settled the payment for the room (extras were paid for at the end) and after a few hours, shown to our bungalow. The staff arranged a quiz on our first night which was lots of fun. Food was good. Wifi was available. Isla is a great place to unwind, spend time on quiet beaches away from the crowds. It has a super relaxed vibe, which isn't forced or pretentious. We loved the simplicity.

Minor things: our bungalow was the last one, close to staff quarters, who would sometimes get back late or get up early, with lights going on when they did. The view was also not as great as the other bungalows, as half our view was of solar panels. There are no hooks to hang clothes (there are two posts which could easily have some hooks drilled onto them). Bed faced the wrong direction (in our opinion!) so we put our pillows on the other side to have views over the sea. The toilet/shower facilities on our side were absolutely fine, but on the other side of the camp they smelt really badly, and the light didn't always work. People staying close to those toilets reported a lot of mosquitos (which we had none of).

Insel wunderschön, Lage am Strand so wie man es sich vorstellt! Zimmer sauber, Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend!

Das Abendessen-Buffet war nicht ganz optimal, da meines Erachtens nach nicht genügend aufgefüllt wurde und nach einer halben Stunde alles leckere leer war. Auch die Getränke (Cocktails usw.) lassen zu wünschen übrig. Aber dafür sind die Preise auch fair!

Overall, we had a good experience at La Isla. The location is beautiful and extremely peaceful and the staff is very friendly (you can really see they’re trying their best). When booking this experience, you’re already aware that it’s not a traditional hotel but a more rustic way of life (no hot water for showers, shared bathrooms, limited connectivity in some areas of the property), which is totally fine if that’s what you’re looking for.

I would have expected a bit more cleanliness, especially in the shared bathrooms. Considering they are used by many guests, I would have expected more frequent cleaning throughout the day. The biggest disappointment for us was the food, particularly breakfast and dinner. For lunch, I recommend pre-ordering your meal, as dishes often run out. Breakfast offers only few options (if you are vegetarian/gluten free etc even less), and these are not always replenished, so you may end up with very limited choices. Dinner is unfortunately the weakest point: since it’s served at a fixed time and buffet-style, it feels like a rush. If you’re not among the first in line, you may find that several items are already gone, as the buffet is not replenished. Considering the price (which is not so so cheap compared to other options in El Nido), I believe there should definitely be improvements when it comes to the meal organization.

La nourriture était frugale. Si on n est pas pile à l heure pour manger il n y avait plus rien. Peu de diversité dans la nourriture. Peu de fruits alors que c est local. Très peu de plats cuisinés. En revanche le mini cooking est sympathique

Staff was such sweethearts and helped with anything I needed help with ♥️ They created good vibes and smiles. The huts - though they don’t have doors. You have your privacy. Beds were great and the mosquito net didn’t have any holes. The location itself. The island is small and semi secluded (there are other resorts). I loved it, had morningruns on the beach, read my book during the day and socialized at night. Just what I needed.

Le fait d'être isolé sur une île on se sent coupé du monde avec des plages à couper le souffle c'est une bulle de bonheur.

Il manquait des petites choses qui peuvent rendre l'endroit plus "pratique". Un miroir + porte vêtement dans les cabanes car rien pour étendre nos serviettes + affaires mouillées. Un peu plus de lumière dans l'espace douche + toilette, se laver les dents dans le noir c'est pas très très pratique. Et aussi la nourriture du petit dej et des repas qui pourrait être nettement meilleure ça a été le point négatif du séjour.. sinon le reste était super.
