Sun&Star Studded Central Luxury with Hottub, Pool, Views

The location was decent. Not too far from the mall and some restaurants.

(1) The refrigerator did not work. At all. It was literally room temp. I doubt the fridge worked for the previous renters either. In my opinion, I feel like the host knew beforehand but didn’t make the arrangements to get it working. We had groceries we needed to refrigerate but were unable to do so. (2) We could not get the spa heater to turn on. The host sent instructions via text msg (there were none at the property showing/explaining how to work the pool equipment), but we were still unable to get it to work. I have a pool at my house and I still couldn’t get the jacuzzi to heat. The host was not very responsive either. My kids were so disappointed they couldn’t swim. It was one of the main reasons we booked this property. (3) the couch in the living room (not the tv area) was covered with stains or dirt or spilled drinks or something. Looks great in the photo. But not clean in person. Makes you wonder what else was not properly cleaned. (4) which brings me to the last issue: upon arrival there was a used bandaid sitting on the table in the room with the two full beds. I grabbed it with a Kleenex and trashed it, thinking I did not want to let it ruin our stay. Didn’t realize it was just a sign of more ‘issues’ to come during the day.

Big beautiful house

Apart from the large house with plenty of space, the view is the big selling point here. With lots of outdoor space (pool, lounge area), it's great to just be outside and look at the view across Escondido. Kids were mostly in the pool or tub and we enjoyed some time off around the fire table. Shops very close by (just down the road at the intersection) and ocean not too far either. Host super responsive to questions. Cooling throughout the house helped a lot with the very warm 4th of July weekend. Definitely recommended!

It's an AirBnB, not a hotel, so different expectations apply. Just need to know what to bring and where to order food and get the party started. So nothing to complain about at all. Will book again if the opportunity presents itself.
