Misthill Rest - Lavish Villa

Een prima hotel voor een nachtje. Er is namelijk niet zoveel te doen. Het staat boven op een berg, omringt met andere gebouwen, weinig moois om je heen, maar dat wisten ook van te voren. Wij gingen het hotel in, zijn met de taxi wat gaan eten, terug gegaan, slapen en de volgende dag vroeg naar de trein gegaan. Dus het was een kort verblijf. Het hotel was wel netjes en goed verzorgd. Het ontbijt was prima. Het mooiste en beste van het hotel was de eigenaar, zeer vriendelijk goed engels sprekende man. Wij hadden wat problemen met de treinkaartjes en hij heeft ons hier heel fijn advies bij gegeven. En ons de situatie beter uitgelegd dan onze chauffeur wie de kaartjes zou regelen. Heel dankbaar voor.

De locatie. De locatie was gewoon niks.

Чисто, замечательный персонал, вкусная еда, зубные щетки, можно заказать вино или пиво к ужину - привезут за цену в магазине. Рекомендую это место, чтобы исследовать район.

The Sri Lankan breakfast was pretty nice and made to order. Staff extremely friendly. We similarly had lots of issues with the hot water (it is very temperamental) but the host was obliging and got it sorted quickly. Reasonable rate for Nuwara Eliya.

The bed linen did not fit the beds properly so continually came off the mattress during the night. It was cold and quite windy the night we stayed and one of the rooms was absolutely freezing, with no blanket available despite requesting (a blow heater was provided but this didn't offer much). Some of the bed linen was also not clean. The location is quite out of the way of the main town and the side road up to the villa is VERY precarious, particularly in/after rainfall. Unfortunately it didn't really live up to "lavish" for us.

The staff were amazingly kind and went all the way to make us comfortable. The breakfast was...delicious but HUGE! We had to take some with us. You get a choice of 3 cuisines but then you also get eggs, yoghurt, fruit, pancakes etc which was very unexpected. The accommodation was comfortable and it was very clean. Nusha was the perfect host, even arranging to send transport at the last minute to pick up our party of 6 from the train. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

Although the property was quite a long way from town, it was cheap to get there and it needed to be a distance away as the town was very lively and noisy.

Spotlessly clean rooms with great views. The staff were super attentive and kind. Breakfast was good too.
