The Lookout Loft, a short stroll into town

Leigh is a super friendly, relaxed, and very helpful host. Communication via WhatsApp was smooth and uncomplicated, and she was always quick to assist whenever we had questions. The loft is very tastefully furnished, and fully equipped. Its central location in Stellenbosch is a big plus — everything is within easy walking distance. Having a washing machine (&detergent) in the apartment was a real advantage for us as we arrived with our mountainbikes, and the space was generous enough to comfortably accommodate our gear. Carrying the mountainbikes up to the upper floor is a bit of a workout, but once inside, the apartment offers enough space. The décor is thoughtfully curated and stylish, even if it felt for us a little full at times. The loft does show some signs of use, but it was very clean and well cared for. We really enjoyed having breakfast outside on the small balcony every morning. The only real downside from a sporty point of view is the lack of a pool or a comfortable outdoor chill area to recover after long MTB rides. The balcony is quite narrow, and while the chairs look great, they’re not ideal for relaxing. Overall, this is a great place to stay — especially for active travelers, remote workers, or anyone wanting to explore Stellenbosch on foot. Stylish, practical, and centrally located, with a welcoming host who makes the stay easy and enjoyable.

There is no dedicated outdoor chill area, and the air conditioning is slightly on the louder side. We’re not usually used to sleeping with AC, but given the high temperatures, it was definitely appreciated and made a comfortable night’s sleep possible.

Clean, beautifully decorated, very spacious and close to town and still in a very quiet road.

A perfect apartment in the part of town I find ideal. Great to have a parking bay. Communicative host with easy check in etc.

The helper Forget, was really pleasant and helpful on checkin and checkout. Real cozy apartment. Lovely sunrise shine into the bedroom. Great water pressure in the shower. Good to have active streaming platforms on the TV. Close to town and Central to most vineyards in Stellenbosch.

The ventilation fan in the bathroom is a bit noisy and the spiral staircase leading to the bedroom is a bit tricky.

It was perfectly situated. The owner was very kind and arranged help for us with the luggage from the car park.

It had a loft and we slept “upstairs”. It was so easy to walk into town for food and historical sites.
