The Old Stables, The River Severn, Shrewsbury

Host very pleasant. Lovely room, just in the process of being extended, which was great. Overlooked a nice well kept garden. Within walking distance of the River Severn and a few minutes walk to the town.

We had no problems.

Beautiful property, spotlessly clean and within easy walking distance to Shrewsbury town centre. Hosts were warm , and welcoming and went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible . Would definitely recommend.

Everything, amazing value and location

I liked that the parking was private, The wifi worked well. Smart TV worked and had access to Netflix. The room was clean and decorated nicely. The shower worked well. The room had all you needed for an overnight stay. On day 2 we found the mini fridge. There was tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk, fruit and biscuits that the host replenished when needed. Just dropped a text and they responded promptly. The view from the seating area over the garden was nice and once the balcony is finished it'll be lovely sitting out in the morning or evening. Hosts were lovely and helpful with advice on local amenities. Even offered the use of their own kitchen because we thought it was an apartment and we'd bought our own food. They put our food in their freezer to keep it for us on the day we left. They gave us a bottle of chilled wine to say sorry for the mix up. The Stables are walking distance from the town center attractions. 5 minutes from the prison and castle.

The bed was narrow, a king or super king would fit in the size of the room well. Because the bed was much smaller than our own we struggled to sleep well. It was warm as it's summer so we had the windows open and the weir is very loud as you are so close to the river. There was no bin in the room. That would be helpful. The coffee making table was very low. It's listed as an apartment so we took food and drink I explained this to the host, They explained booking.com won't allow them to change this. It is not an apartment it's an ensuite room only. Having said that the host was very apologetic and offered the use of their personal kitchen.

Jocelyne was a lovely host. Fantastic location. Beautiful house and garden.

Minor improvement would be the inclusion of a small stool to sit on whilst drying hair and applying makeup.

Lovely location ,great secure parking ,close to the river severn we could here sound of the water falling at the weir in the distance sent us to sleep ,it was very very clean and fresh to lovely bedding ,great tv ,very good size shower

Perfect location near the river, 10min walk into Shrewbury, peaceful. Wonderful host.
