"Good budget place to stay in a great location"

8.0

I loved the convenient location. It's just a 3 minute walk to the bus stop that takes you to all the main places. 10 minute walk to Hyehwa metro station. There is a small supermarket on the other side of the street. Plus, there are lots of cafés and restaurants around. You can even do the walk hike from here, get up on the mountain or just chill in parks or the nearby Munmyo shrine. The place itself is on the 3rd floor, no elevator. The wifi was always strong. Rooms are small, and mine was without a window to the outside (only a small one to the floor, which let in a lot of light, so the landlord said he'd attach a blind after I left). The common areas, including corridor, kitchen and bathroom, were cleaned daily. (Don't be surprised, it was always a man doing that.) The kitchen also had a laundry machine and two dryers that you could use free of charge. If the dryers were full - which they often were - you have the rooftop to hang all your clothes or put them on racks and put them inside in front of the rooftop door. The space was also quiet, even though there were so many people staying there. The landlord mostly communicates in Korean, so have your Snaptik or Google translate app ready. But he responds really fast and is very helpful. I definitely recommend it for a longer stay on a budget and the great location. Really good deal. Tip: Bring your own house slippers (or get them from Daiso down the road), since outdoor shoes are not allowed inside.

The place was pretty clean - other than people just being messy with leaving their food scraps in the sink and hair in the drain, but that was also cleaned away once a day. (Though people should be more considerate generally, but that's not on the accommodation.) The rooms are really TINY. This is not a place to rent for getting all comfy. It's more like a study room to hole up and focus. Or just roam around all day. There is a small bed, a desk with a chair, a mini fridge and a small hanging cupboard with 4 square shelf spaces.
