Stunning House near Fort William - Taigh Sona

The property is well located and ideal for our hike up Nevis. The hot tub was also very welcome albeit it did leave a residue on the skin which was resolved with a clean shower. The colour of the walls is not very pleasant in either the living room or dining area.

The significant issue for our group was the water pressure which was such that our party of seven were only able to use the one out of 3 shower facilities that were advertised and this was located on the first floor The downstairs shower pressure was so low that you could not wash the soap away without standing under it for a long time. The shower was also leaking and left a pool of water after first use. The upstairs bath had just a trickle of water coming out of the hot tap. When I contacted the owners they explained that the pressure is such due to gravity etc. and nothing can be done about it. I feel this should have been made clear within property details. Having now read many of the reviews I see we are not the first group to raise this an issue. It was not acceptable for our group as one of our family members is disabled and struggles negotiating stairs. It also delayed us getting up and ready for the day, which I explained to the owner during our stay. A few other points I raised with the owners but did not get a response for: - A nail clipping was found in one of the bedrooms, clearly not been thoroughly cleaned from previous occupants - the electrical socket was loose in the same bedroom - only 2 number hairdryers were located in each double room at the top of the stairs - the freezer door would not close properly due to it needing defrosting and made opening the fridge very difficult; we also had to clean the fridge on arrival - The drawer front in one of the bedrooms came off as I opened it I raised the concerns with the owner and sent videos and photos as requested but they were not dealt with. Given the circumstances we considered it wholly appropriate that a partial Despite the above, we enjoyed the large living room area which had adequate seating for our large party but we won’t be booking this property again

If/when the pleasant owner invests in new mattresses, more than one tea towel, salt & pepper, dishwasher tablets and a little sprucing up of this tired property then it would definitely move the ‘value for money slider’ more to the middle.

It was beautiful location, the hot tub was a great idea for post Nevis soak! Kitchen is well stocked with equipment and little bits . Cozy cottage rooms , there a beautiful Peacock that stays around the cottage! Overall lovely stay and very helpful owners who responded to all queries. Happy and relaxed guests left after a wonderful stay.

The shower downstairs had very little pressure and was cold. We went during the heatwave weekend, which couldn’t be helped , upstairs was very hot and uncomfortable, there were 3 fans , perhaps more will be needed and maybe larger metal ones rather than the small ones at present. Couldn’t find any salt and pepper! Perhaps have small bottles on the counter next to tea sugar canisters .

Looks a bit off outside but was a beautiful and perfect stay with all amenities . Great ambience and great view
