It was clean and tidy.

It is described as bedroom flat with parking but it is actually a garage conversion attached directly to owners property. Insufficient room on the drive for our mid range car. There was no proper cooker just a basic camping stove.

"Disappointing. Despite responsive hosts."

This flat is located in a maze of roads at the end of a former council estate. It is protected by high fences and a lockable driveway wooden gate. To reach Oxford city centre we drove (7 minutes) to the Redbridge Park and ride and paid £5 for two to travel from there to the city (15 minutes). We ate out at the excellent Kings Arms pub by the Thames which served excellent pub food. It was a 5 minute drive away. When we arrived, the heating did not work properly, there were no sharp knives, no oven (only a hob), no bedside lights in the bedroom and no hair dryer. We rang the hosts, who to their credit, were fantastically responsive immediately coming over and sorting out the radiators (and providing an electric fire just in case) and providing sharp knives and bedside lights that worked. They also provided more rubbish bins for us. So, all credit to them for being responsive, friendly and caring. We valued that.

I hate writing less than positive reviews of establishments, but so much was not right with this apartment that we did not feel it was value for money. We paid £387 for three nights in mid -November, so it wasn't cheap. In reality this place is a garage conversion with a bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom tacked on. In our view the lack of complete curtains at windows and the vinyl floor covering meant that it did not feel cosy. Most disappointing was the fact that it lacked many items. When we arrived, the heating did not work properly, there were no sharp knives, no oven (only a hob), no bedside lights in the bedroom and no hair dryer. However, we did not really feel the annex was worth what we paid. The TV had buttons for many services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney...but no subscription. In the lounge only one window had curtains. We parked on the road outside although you could squeeze a small car onto the very limited drive. Some things were good. The bedroom had a wardrobe and a reasonable double bed with a quilt. The bathroom had a good shower, and all the fittings and furnishings looked new. The kitchen was modern with a kettle, toaster, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, small electric hob and a clothes washing machine. (but no oven). The lounge had a comfortable sofa that could convert into a bed. And the hosts in particular tried their best to respond to our comments. I commend them for being responsive and doing their utmost to sort out things. I hope they feel that this review is fair and objective. I also hope it will give them suggestions about what to improve for future guests.
