El Camino Del Mar

The apartment’s location is very good — 10 minutes by bus from the beach, 20 minutes by bus from the city center, and the bus stop is a 3-minute walk from the apartment. The apartment has 3 rooms, a more or less well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. The living room and two of the bedrooms have air conditioning, while one bedroom has a fan. In the kitchen, there is a large table that can seat all the guests. Wi-fi was great. Communication with the owner was smooth and without any issues.

As shown, the apartment has no balcony, but the kitchen window faces the kitchen of the apartment across the way. We found an ashtray on the window, and upon entering the apartment there was a smell of smoke. Not too strong, but it was obvious that smoking had taken place before our arrival. The living room is almost non-existent, as it is a small space with a sofa, a TV, and a small table — too small for more than 3 people to hang out in (even though the apartment accommodates 6 people). The bathroom needs more thorough cleaning as there are traces of mold in and around the shower cabin. The drain had an odd smell, though I think this is not the owner’s fault but rather an issue with the building. Overall, the whole apartment needs more detailed cleaning as there was a lot of dust upon arrival. The beds have two softer and one firmer mattress, and they squeak a bit (but that’s a matter of personal preference). There is construction work going on in the ground floor of the building; there was no noise, but it currently doesn’t look very nice.

We moesten de sleutel op een andere plek niet dichtbij ophalen, dit kwam omdat we een late check-in hadden. En de eigenaar had gezegd dat we bij deur 4 moesten zijn op de derde verdieping terwijl we bij deur 10 moesten zijn. Gelukkig nam ze nog wel op om half 2 's nachts om dit misverstand te verhelpen.

The supermarket next door

Told 1 week before about foyer renovations and no lift to 1st floor and offered a refund but as we were already travelling, it was too late for us to book another hotel. When we arrived the elevator didn’t work at all so had to carry suitcases 3 floors. The person who met us helped with the suitcases but every time we went out we needed to walk the 3 flights of stairs as there was no working lift. In the apartment a few things not great. Light in bedroom 3 didn’t work. Bedroom 3 was very small. Mould around the skirtings in hallway near the shower. Shower door handle was broken. The beach was further away than we thought it would be. It would've been good to have the number of the street and apartment as the street was very long and we couldn't find the exact location.

3 bedrooms, nice location, good kitchen, friendly host

Had everything we needed, well laid out, comfy and close to transport links. Very easy to get there from the airport. Walking distance to the beach etc. Very quiet in the apartment and the lift was very handy.

Difficult to get shower to right temperature, worried about children getting scolded as water very hot, easy to knock the mixer tap over to the hot.
