"Comfortable and convenient stay"

9.0

Breakfast was great, especially the stuffed Derbyshire oatcake. Great location, rooms, spaciousness

The restaurant opened at 9:00 and, in spite of pre-ordering, we didn't get ours until about 9:20. This was rather late for us as we were leqding walking groups. The heating wasn't coming on when we arrived; we reported this, but, when it wasn't fixed, pressed some buttons on the the thermostat and eventually got it to work. The kitchen was lacking in some basic equipment; Pyrex dishes (I wanted to make a fish pie and a crumble), scales

"Nice property with lots of thoughtful extras, in a good location."

8.0

Good facilities with all the extras we needed e.g. dishwasher tablets, high chair, non stick mat for the shower, big fridge. Shampoo etc also provided which made it an easy place to stay.

Key collection was a bit more tricky than it needed to be as it was from a shop in the town which meant we had to park somewhere else, find the shop and collect the keys, then move the car to unload and then go park the car somewhere in the parking space. The downstairs wasn't as clean as the bedrooms, with young children crawling about and moving things they came across some left of dirt and debris.

"Small house - big value, bonus hamper, amazing breakfast!"

10.0

We loved the location and appreciated the car parking spot. The house had a lot of space and easily accommodated our group of 5 adults. The outside spaces were well maintained and in full bloom during our stay, which was lovely. The inclusive breakfast at the old pudding shop was amazing!

The sleep quality was slightly let down by the thinness of the pillows, which is a shame as the bedding was lovely.

"Highly recommend this property"

10.0

Great location, breakfast was lovely and the parking spot a real bonus. The house was lovely and was perfect for our family stay

Not very easy to unload/load the car as its a narrow road but does not detract from the property at all

Welcome package, Kitchen and accessories, Garden, Cleanliness, BreakFast and location.

The mattresses on the bed were a little too bouncy for two people. Pocket sprung mattresses would be better for double beds.

"Wonderful. No one wanted to leave and some of us were sad and may have shed a few tears."

10.0

We thought we were going to be late, so we picked up the keys at the pub. Everyone was really nice and they gave some good recommendations as well. The house was really really cute! My kids loved it and did not want to leave. The map of Bakewell, the pudding, the kitchen has so much counter space! My kids also loved being able to go out in the garden. The decor was great and the space was very clean. The welcome basket was nice and the bread, wine, and beer delicious. The location was excellent and we enjoyed being able to walk around town after all the other tourists went home. Everyone in Bakewell was really friendly and the breakfast at the Pudding Shop was a nice touch. Everything was so close - shops, restaurants, market. Haddon Hall is worth a visit and only five minutes away. The ability to park the car and leave it there was nice. We went to Stanton Moor for a walk and it was very nice and not too far away. Everything was very close. The church is worth seeing as well, with very old crosses and thousand-year-old stones. Also within walking distance is the Monsal Trail. And we happened to be there on a market day, and that was worth it as well, and the charity shops had excellent selection of clothes and other things. Everyone we met seemed very happy. My father needed to replace a pin in a watch band and the man who runs the shoe repair and leather store helped him out. If we'd stayed longer (oh, if only!) we would have visited Chatsworth House and gone on more walks, but alas, we only had a few days. We loved Bakewell and this house was amazing for us! One warning, the street is very narrow, but you can turn around at the nursing home across the road. Otherwise, it is a little bit of a slog with luggage from the car park to the front door (the man at the pub who gave me the keys told me this and it was very helpful advise).

The shower and sink drains were slow so that when showering, you had to stand in water. There is no counter or storage place near the bathroom sink, so that we had to keep our toothbrushes in our rooms. And while I love the kitchen and could probably live in this house, there was only one pot and a not very large skillet for cooking for 5 people. None of these things were bog deals. We loved this place very much and everyone was sad to leave it. It set a very high standard for us.
