La casa nel Borgo

A great location right in the heart of the local piazza. A very pretty street. We had free parking but it was a five minute walk away.

Unfortunately, I would have to say the bed linen and the main mattress have met the expiry dates. The bottom sheet was very piled and there was a very deep crevice on one side of the mattress. We stayed a week and enjoyed the apartment but would suggest if you have access to a washing machine, it would be good also to have an iron and ironing board. A kettle would also be good for tourists.

The location is superb for Scopello--very relaxing indeed.

There was a problem with a leak in one of the rooms but Francesco arranged for us to stay in another house just 300m from the square. The house didn’t have wifi but we were able to access the town house any time we wanted to when we needed to check emails etc.

There was nothing we didn’t like. We loved everything. Francesco was regularly in contact checking that everything was okay. We spent loads of our week in the Zingaro national park which is magnificent.

Waking up in this quaint coastal town was surreal. A last minute add on to my Sicilian travels and ultimately very glad I chose Scopello. At La Casa nel Borgo I found myself amidst the locals and within seconds to bars, pasticceria e other small family run localities that welcome the many tourists. I found the host Francesco to be very helpful, easy to communicate with and thanks to his many suggestions dined at one of THE best restaurants I have ever eaten in. His story of the family home resonated with me; and by welcoming me into the home I too felt like a local on some days - sitting on the door steps of the home seeing locals stroll by or watching tourists explore the cobbled streets that paves the town. Tonnara di Scopello is within VERY close walking proximity - and a must to visit when here. As too the Zingaro Reserve. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, with many thanks to the host and their helper Giusy - who works next door in the cute ceramic shop.

We appreciated the impeccable beds, very clean and confortable, the size of the rooms and the excellent location of the house, right in the center of Scopello. We had easy access to restaurants and gelatteria and a nice walk to the beaches. We also highly appreciated the amability of Giusti, who kindly received us and gave us all the informations we needed.

Great location. Great apartment located in a charming part of the village. We never met the host, but he was very efficient in answering and advising us with good and helpful information via WhatsApp. Parking was provided which was very helpful by the host.

The neighbours water pump (above the apartment) ran on and off throughout the night and day. The noise was unbearable and according to the host he cannot do anything about it. There was no decent sleep to be had. The noise is most disruptive and quite spoiled our stay. I think it is fair to say we should have been made aware of this problem so we could then make an informed decision to choose to stay or not.

Very nice appartment near the centre square of Scopello. Nice owner and people in ceramic store on-site who take care of the guests. Kitchen was well equipped. Washing machine was usefull.

Hard to find a restaurant at the time of the year (end of March) and sometimes a bit cold.

spacious, clean and simply furnished. Great to be right on a village street so we could open the doors wide and watch the world go by and feel part of the community. lots of lovely cafes and restaurants to go to with fabulous views. easy access to the Zingaro nature reserve which has wonderful walks and small coves to swim. also you can walk to Tonnaro di Scopello, an old tuna factory, now a lovely hotel and has a museum.

could do with reading lamps by the bed and a chopping board. apart from that very good.

Central location in the heart of the beautiful village of Scopello. A range of bars and restaurants to choose from. The house is spacious and tastefully presented. A great base for hiking in the National park and hills nearby. A range of beautiful coves to swim in but car access required to reach them. Thanks to Francesco for his excellent communication and ensuring we had a hassle free stay. I would highly recommend this place.

Noisy water pump kicks in intermittently throughout the day and night, not ideal for light sleepers but we got used to it. It wouldn't stop me from staying here again!
