Oliver Wests Beautiful 2 Bedroom Sleeps 4 Apartment

What a little Gem this place is. First time I’ve been to Scarborough and will definitely be back. This is very convenient for the town centre and the beach. The accommodation is spotless, very comfortable beds and has everything you need. I love how cute the set up is and all the equipment you need is there.

Compact bathroom with no shelving for toiletries. Just needs a couple of shelves in bedrooms and bathroom

Property exactly as described and easy to find. Well equipped and no traffic sound from outside. Free parking around the corner.

No coat hangers in wardrobe.

disgusting.. the apartment was left in a disgusting way, nothing was clean. beds were left from the previous people. now I'm trying to get a hold of the owners and they are completely ignoring me.

It was so peaceful and beautiful

We were asked to empty bins and strip beds. This might sound daft we went away, get away from house work. We are very clean people so we wouldn’t dear leave it a mess.

My sister and I stayed three nights at the above apartment from Saturday, 22 June till morning of Tuesday, 25 June. It is advertised as ‘sleeps four’. The open-plan living room/kitchen diner is spacious and clean. There is a TV which works and Wifi is good. The blackout curtains were a godsend in the summer. There are adequate facilities such as washing machine, fridge, freezer, toilet paper and washing up liquid. There is a huge wardrobe (see photo) that stands in the hallway as you enter and we presumed it is to be shared. Fortunately, I am staying with my sister. However, I would be hesitant to share a wardrobe with other people who might be sharing the flat with me. The bathroom/toilet is large. However, I would have felt safer if there was a grab rail when stepping out of the bath-tub.

The apartment is in Oliver Wests area which we were not familiar with. However, after a couple of messages between ourselves and the host, we understand that we can only park on the road outside the apartment for a maximum of three hours during certain times. This meant that we must move our car to another location within walking distance that offer free parking (if available). This is something to be aware of. What we were not aware of when booking the apartment was that it was on the top floor (see photos of stairs). If you have mobility issues, this is not ideal for you. We met Alex at the front of the house. It was easy to access the key lock but the front door was not easy to open as the key appeared to be 'stucked'. When Alex checked the key, he acknowledged that the key would need some attention. The bed mattresses (of the double bed and one of the single beds) were uncomfortable; the spring in the mattress can be felt and my sister in particular felt as it she was ‘falling’. I was also disappointed to find one of the pillow cases crumpled (see photo) which got me worried about whether it had been changed. The double fitted bedsheet might be too small (see photo). Having been charged £50 for cleaning you would expect more than a crumpled pillow case and ill fitting bed sheet. Having checked out of another self catering cottage (in the Yorkshire dales) where we were provided with a pint of milk, a small tin of coffee and a small package of teabags we were obviously disappointed with the number of tea bags and coffee sachets provided (see photo). We should have checked if there was a hairdryer initially and would have brought one ourselves. I have taken for granted that in all my previous self-catering accommodations a hairdryer was always available. Although the bathroom is large and clean, I was concerned that there is no grab rail for one to step out of the bath tub. The door has no lock so beware if you are sharing with three other persons.

Great location, nicely done up and comfortable flat. All provided in the kitchen and clean. Enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The communal area in the building for very clean. Can be hard to find parking and this is difficult if you need to carry bags. No lift.
