Riad bel kaid fes

The communication with the owner via WhatsApp on the day we arrived was very correct. We had dinner at the Riad, on the owner's recommendation. The food was excellent and the prices were fair. Also, on the host's recommendation, we took a licensed guide to tour the old Medina in Fez. I recommend everyone to take a tourist guide, because the Medina is huge.

We had 4 rooms booked, but none of us got the reserved and prepaid room. The rooms we got were bad, only on the second night we got two other rooms, which were better. We didn't get the family room, which we booked. We arrived at the accommodation late, and we informed the host about it. In addition, all the rooms were not cleaned. I have never had this situation with accommodation before. Towels need to be changed urgently, they need to be up to standards. Breakfast very average, and the service quite slow. I can say that my entire experience of Fez was spoiled by this unpleasant situation in the accommodation. This Riad is located in the New Medina, so you need to go to the Old one by car.

Ismael, the owners brother, couldn't do enough for me, he was always cheerful. The food was good, the terrace nice.

It was quite noisy as the ground floor rooms are where the reception and breakfast is too. My room wasn't always made up.

The owner was very kind and attentive always making sure we were confortable y giving us good information and help during our visit in Fez. Food at the restaurant was good too and breakfasts are very generous. I will recommend this guest house for budget conscious travelers.

This are only suggestion. The owner was very nice to send a hotel worker to help us with the baggage an guide us through the narrow street, but he should tell the name of the person who will give that service, to make feel moré confortable the guests.
