"A cosy cabin retreat"

7.0

Beautiful location in North Wales. Not too remote, but you do feel like you're in your own little private forest, which is nice. There's access to a dreamy little beach and sheep grazing, too. Lit a fire and tried the hot tub briefly. Comfy bed and warm cabin.

It's not explicitly mentioned, but there are two other cabins nearby. Each has its own space, so it does feel secluded/private, but if you really want a remote stay, it's not exactly that. The hot tub was warm but not hot, the cover was breaking apart, and the smell of chlorine was overpowering (on the bright side, it must be sanitary!!)

"Perfect private relaxing spot. Complete tranquility."

10.0

I feel this cabin has had a lot of unrealistic expectations resulting in bad reviews. This cabin is essentially a glamping pod, and any facility placed in complete forest conditions will have some not so perfect aspects to it. We however thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had climbed mount snowdon for sunrise the morning we were due to stay, we then visited angel bay before heading down to barmouth to the cabin. The location of the cabin is not hard to find when following the youtube video provided, we found it very easily and love how tranquil but still close to amenities it is. We arrived slightly early with plans to wait in the car if the cabin was not ready. Much to our delight the cabin was ready with the hot tub heated (a life saver after a long morning hiking). Our trip was planned to explore the Eryri area, we have previously climbed snowdon last year and therefore wanted other area’s to explore this time. The cabin offered a great location to be able to explore areas like Cadair Idris, little italy, black sands beach in Porthmadog. The barmouth beach is also outstanding. The cabin itself was clean, had all the basic necessities we needed and was cosy. The bed might possibly be the comfiest bed I have ever slept in (I need to know where the pillows and duvet are from!!). There are sheep and a horse on the sight freely roaming but unbothered. We enjoyed watching the lambs run around. There is also a small stoney beach bit where we had a peak to on our arrival and saw the largest jellyfish ever! The cabin we stayed in was called Maddawch (i believe i’ve spelt this correct), it is placed slightly uphill. There are some negative comments regarding this however, it is very small. We did not find this an issue at all during our stay and it being uphill provides complete privacy of the cabin.

Nothing. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

"Highly recommend"

Private, secluded and very relaxing place to stay.

We didn’t receive the check in instructions/directions in advance which left us getting very lost! But this was quickly resolved with the host who was very helpful.

"Lovely location, very peaceful & beautiful but I wouldn't say pet friendly"

7.0

Beautiful location, right next to the estuary. There are other cabins around but you can't see or hear them and are surrounded by trees, it's gorgeous and so peaceful. The directions sent by the host were very useful for finding it, the cabin was unlocked for us with the hot tub ready to go which was lovely. The cabin is a good size with a very comfy bed. Kitchen has an electric stove top and kettle (no hair dryer though so may want to bring one with you)

On the whole the cabin was clean but there were were cobwebs & dust over the window. After using the hot tub we went to have a shower but after running the water for 20 minutes it was still ice cold so had to go without, same with both taps. The next morning I text the hosts who came back to say there wasn't any hot water to the taps but to try the shower again, luckily it worked so perhaps it just doesn't get hot in the evening? The only other thing was that I wish I'd known there would be sheep roaming free right up to the cabin (were in the hot tub and they were right behind us). I love sheep & animals, but not when we have a nervous dog who went berserk every time he saw them so we had to keep him on a lead the whole time, or lock him in the cabin. If I'd known they'd be that close I don't think I'd have booked so this should probably be mentioned on the advert or a fence put around the lower field if possible.
