"Dirtiness built in to the experience."

The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge reasonably comfortable. The bedrooms were nice in appearance. The central heating was extremely good and simple to adjust. Unfortunately, the positives for this property nowhere near compensated for the negatives.

The place is DIRTY generally. On first entry, the carpet in the corridor has a black trail along it and much the same elsewhere. The windows are filthy. The cooker has hardened on food around the ovens. Cleaning is very superficial. There are no mattress and pillow protectors in place which means that pillows can be smelly of other people, for example. All of this is symptomatic of a lack of pride in the property and a lack of respect for guests. There is a double bedroom downstairs which might be helpful to guests with limited mobility but there is no bathroom downstairs so it is not a positive. It looked to us like there was space to install a small bathroom downstairs. The shower is abominable. It is over a free standing bath and one has to have shower curtains all around one in the bath. It is dark and the curtains stick to ones body. Furthermore, the bath is on a 100mm high plinth which makes stepping into it difficult and getting out of it scary. Towel rail fell off of the wall when we were looking around the property on arrival. The owner required a deposit against breakages which was returned. However, it is totally unclear in what circumstances the owner would retain part or all of the deposit. No list, for example, of preexisting damage was available despite there being some obvious problems. The owner, for example, was clearly aware of the loose towel rail.

Private parking was safe and secure and the house was very spacious. Ideal for what we needed for work, in fact we booked it again for the following week.

Shower set up is poor, the outside space needs attention and could do with a thorough clean as apostle to a whip round when guests leave. All in all 8/10

"Has the potential to be a great short-stay rental but requires a deep clean, inside and out."

Well apportioned rooms, driveway for car. Big enough for a family. The owner is friendly.

The house requires a deep clean inside and out. The front and rear gardens were so unkempt it felt like driving up to an abandoned property, with weeds at knee height. Not welcoming at all. The front door was faded and dirty. Inside, the hall carpet was filthy and part of the ceiling was peeling away and hanging down. In the kitchen, the cooker was very dirty, many of the cups and glasses required cleaning before they could be used, and the windows were full of cobwebs. The countertop was sticky so we had to clean that. In the bathroom, there was thick slime coating the pipe coming down from the toilet cistern, and the towel rail was hanging off. The non-slip bath mat in the bath was dirty. Elsewhere, interior doors required cleaning. Overall, we felt we were in a dirty house. I think the owner needs a professional cleaner to come in and clean the house properly, while giving the gardens some love and attention would make the property more welcoming. It's not lost but it requires some serious TLC to turn it into a desirable rental property, which it has the potential to be. I would recommend the owner spend a few days there to recognise what the issues are.

Lovely modern house with all you need for a great stay in the heart of Norwich. Just a walk away from shops, restaurants, bars and lots of takeaways nearby. Beds were comfy and rooms airy. Smart TV and off street parking a bonus. Really great communication with owner.

Just having the one toilet with a big group could be an issue but we were just a couple staying so wasn't an issue.
