The General's apt

The location was good, very close to the old town. The shower was hot.

The apartment was freezing cold when we arrived and I had to ask how to heat the place up (the boiler was off) The building lift didn't work and wouldn't open on the 2nd floor which was slightly terrifying at 11pm as it's a very old small lift. The rainfall shower had orange liquid coming out of it so I had to use the handheld only. The fridge made lots of noise and I had to move it to make it stop. The whole place stank of paint, it looked like Stevie wonder had painted the place as there was paint all over everything, the TV remote, mugs, kitchen sides, on the pictures on the wall, paint pots left out on the balcony. The bedding looked grubby and had a hole in it, the towels were so faded they were crispy and grey. The apartment really needs a new mattress as springs are coming through.

Flexible check in experience! The location is amazing. We could get anywhere really quickly. Some issues, however. For the first day, the radiators would not turn on, so we didn't have heating until late in the evening, so the apartment was quite cold. Eventually, the host told me how to restart the burner. Also, the water would not drain in the shower so one of us had to wait for an hour to take a shower after the other person finished. On the next day, the host sent someone to take care of the shower and the frozen freezer and since then both worked fine. Another issue was a leaky radiator in the kitchen, which we solved by setting a cup underneath and emptying the water.
