"Beautiful cottage - good location- shame about the weather !"

8.0

Beautifully decorated cosy cottage very clean and well maintained. Lots of attention to detail and very comfortable . Really well equipped - especially the kitchen, it had everything! Lovely towels and bedding. Thankyou too for the welcome cake, juice, tea and coffee. Lovely blankets in the lounge to cosy up in.

We arrived in the dark and key safe not well lit or very accessible as had to manoeuvre plant pots to get to it. Cottage was cold for 24 hours despite the electric heaters- we think it had been empty for a while combined with the cold snap and empty properties either side - took a while to warm up so purchased lots of extra logs- and it soon warmed up. Other cottages we have stayed in have supplied a few more logs. We think it would be helpful to let people know that if bringing a dog that there isn’t a back garden ( land out the back is private and opened fenced with a horse . The only garden is out the front ands has a very low fence , just away from a busy road - so quite restricting as you would have to always take the dog out on a lead even for a wee. We didn’t have our dog with us so wasn’t a problem but it could have made the visit difficult) . We were unlucky with the weather- wet thick fog which limited what we could do plus lots of tourist sites shut so if we visit the area again we would choose Spring Summer or early Autumn.
