VIVA Alameda Suites - River Guest House

The cafe/restaurant downstairs. The food was delicious and super cheap. The staff were absolutely lovely and it made our stay more enjoyable having that below us. PSA this was not apart of the accommodation!!

The bed was like a rock, we woke up every morning in a lot of pain. There was loud banging two of the nights (unsure where this came from) - had the whole place up at 12am confused about the noise. The TV didn’t work when we arrived. The soap was branded expensive but was refilled with cheap, irritable soap. The location made the stay very noisy so we didn’t have one good night of sleep. How the place is advertised does not represent the reality, we felt as though we were catfished. We tried to get a refund and leave but were denied. We then tried to settle for a simple one night compensation but again were denied. We will definitely not stay here again and definitely do not reccomend you to stay here.

Sijainti myös huono alakerrassa olevan baarin takia. Ikkunat ja ovet eivät myöskään pitäneet yhtään ääntä, joten päädyimme lähtemään jo ensimmäisen yön jälkeen toiseen hotelliin nukkumatta silmäystäkään.. Pienet äänet on tottakai aina ok ja emme ole edes herkkäunisia, mutta nyt kyse oli oikeasti metelistä. Huone oli myös epäsiisti ja siellä oli paljon pinttyneitä likoja. Kuvat antavat siistimmän vaikutelman.

The staff were responsive over chat and allowed us to put our bags in the room early before 4pm check-in. It was also nice being near the river.

The balcony wasn’t clean and looked like it hadn’t been for a very long time. I didn’t bother using it, my partner sat out for about 10mins and came back in with dirty shorts from sitting in the chair. The view and surrounding area wasn’t worth it to be honest anyway. The bathroom was very outdated and felt like it needed some renovating. I don’t think it was dirty but with the old, worn marks and stains- it certainly felt it. The shower head was hanging off when we got there, the metal outer tube had come away (who knows when) and you could see the white rubber inner tube. I was mid shower when it ripped off entirely, and it went everywhere. It was then really difficult to finish my shower that way, I had to hold it like a hose. I did message on the chat and someone come by the next day while we were out and fitted a new head. We both had to shower 4 times with it broken though, it was honestly exhausting. The cold tap in the bathroom had little to no pressure, it lost it the morning I had a reply regarding the shower head due to be fixed, so I believe it was looked at. By our last day though it was gone again. The bed was hard, pillows not too bad but the bed really wasn’t comfortable so we didn’t have the best of sleeps each night.
