Uptown Inn - Limited Service Apart-Hotel

Comfortable and convenient. I was able to walk to zoo, though it was a long walk, and lots of nearby restaurants. Convenient to the train to LA, too. Pleasant staff, very clean rooms. Not sure why the area near the elevator had massive mirror, but it was useful when I was altering a dress for a wedding.

No light near the bed.

No parking, we rented a car and were told to go find parking somewhere on the streets. This was the first time ever in this city, and had no idea where to find street parking!

Great budget option in the heart of Hillcrest. The room is small and clean...mini fridge worked great. I had a room on the west side away from highway noise and I heard nothing. There was a cute balcony if you're on the 7th floor. Staff was friendly.

If you're driving, paying for parking is probably a good idea...some of the streets in the area have no parking from 2am-6am so looking for parking can eat up some of your time. The mattress in my room would sink at the edge of the bed and the hollow metal bed frame would occasionally make a boom noise as I tried to get on/off the bed.

The location is amazing. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe. The place is well linked with transportation and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in walkable distance. Balboa Park is just 20 mins by foot. There is a coin operated laundry room within the hotel which was a great benefit for me as it was already my 10th day living from my suitcase.

The hotel could benefit from a refresher, however, all was good.

This is my go to hotel when I’m staying in San Diego. It’s close to the clubs and many great restaurants. You can grab your morning coffee right next-door at Better Buzz coffee. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are clean. Staff is excellent and very friendly and accommodating.

Location and staff are excellent! Great value for the money. Cleanliness was great. Very clear and accurate advertising.

Small rooms and spartan amenities. But great value and as advertised.

Location there's an amazing ramen place next door. It was also very clean.
