Umalas Retreat - Private Villa with Cook

Heni our housekeeper/cook was fabulous. Excellent cook, cooked breakfasts both local and western brilliant. Evening meals superb too...we stuck mostly with local cuisine cooked to your spiciness requirements. Nothing too much trouble if each guest wanted different dishes, 4 adults and a 4 year old child. Portions huge..quality of ingredients excellent. Heni apart from cooking can do your shopping, laundry, money change organise taxi or whatever! Heni would be there for early breakfast or a late dinner too, nothing was too much trouble ever!!!...even with our 3 month old baby she was helping out. You can use the kitchen too as you like. Supermarket 50m away with ATM. Evening and night quiet.

Kitchen and some kitchen equipment past its best...meaning it is awkward for best cleanliness although no complaint regarding the housekeepers efforts considering and we did not have any problems overall. Maybe not having a BBQ for guests to use.

By far one of the best stays we have ever had! Met Kay on arrival who was super helpful with our requests and with no fuss at all. The villa itself is beautiful with everything you need. It is kept clean and the place is well looked after. The rooms are spacious and tidy. Heni was one of the highlights of our trip. She was kind, very lovely and accomodating. Cooks DELICIOUS food and just a beautiful person. We were very sad to leave Heni. Thank you very much for having us, we are already planning to come back, this time for longer!

Loved the villa and the chef was amazing

Kay was very accommodating, even with our late arrival due to delayed flight. Rusmini is an excellent chef and made a variety of delicious food. The rooms are all spacious, with comfy beds and large bathrooms. Nice lush gardens and relaxing outdoor living area.

Bathrooms hot and sometimes smelly. Plumbing not the best, some work needed on the showers. Location isn't very close to anything but was relaxing other than the construction next door.

We loved EVERYTHING about our stay here. We can’t recommend it enough. The villa (#5) itself is gorgeous and spacious. Rooms are very big and have a bathroom each, all super clean and well furnished. The living area is great too, with different spaces to relax and have social moments. Our hosts were amazing too. Kay, the manager, was super reactive and responsive to all our requests. Heni, the day-to-day house help is incredibly sweet and kind, she looked after us so well during our stay. She cooks amazingly and cleans the rooms every day. She made sure that we had everything we needed without being forceful on anything. A true gem and HUGE plus to have her look after us. Having her helped us fully relax without having to worry about anything but fun activities for the kids. We will definitely be back. Regarding the area. It’s between Seminyak and Canggu. 10mins bike ride from pretty much anything. Great supermarket 1min walk away, and plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes drive.

Absolutely nothing to complain about. This was THE perfect holiday home.
