GBThe house is very cute and has an amazing frontal view overlooking the ocean, there's an enclosed front yard (small gate/low height wall) with outdoor seating to enjoy the view and a nice evening. The property is clean and comfortable to stay in, decent sized kitchen with everything needed to facilitate self catering holiday. Bathroom has a bath with an electric shower which was great. In terms of location there's a few local options for eating out near by but the town center of Newcastle is only 20-30 minutes walk and has a lot of options for food, coffee, shopping and entertainment. Self check in is a big plus and the instructions provided by the host were spot on.
The only negative point which may be subject to when you choose to stay is the parking, there is limited parking outside of the property as there are no designated spaces and it appears that some of the properties in this row of cottages are also holiday rentals, as such parking is a bit of a free for all and I only managed to get parked right outside maybe once during my stay. I was still able to park on the lane in front of the cottages but I mostly had to park behind the very last car which is a good 60 yards or so away and has no visibility from the cottage or any other houses on this road. Whilst not a huge problem it was a small inconvenience when arriving and departing as with self catering holiday rentals you will undoubtably have many bags and groceries too. The lane itself is also surprisingly quite busy and the area you may have to park has no footpath, if I was to stay again I would attempt to park where possible outside of the property and basically not drive until I'm leaving as a means to retain the space. With that said, there is a small enclosed yard of sorts out the back of the house with steps leading up to a door which leads to the outside, behind this is more steps which eventually lead to an outbuilding and a gate (padlocked) onto another road behind the property. It's unclear whether this should have been accessible or not but the road behind the property was basically empty most of my stay and may have offered better opportunities for parking (wider and more easily accessible road than the lane out front) if access from the rear of the property was more obvious or encouraged.
GBVery clean and had everything we needed.
