Lisbon, renewed T1 apartment with pateo near Martires da Patria

Emplacement plutôt bien par rapport au centre ville.

Il faut payer 25€ à la personne qui accueille, il était 20h45. Les peintures s'écaillent..... La terrasse est fermée à clef. la serrure de la porte d'entrée de l'immeuble est défaillante, impossibilité d'ouvrir, immédiatement ,quelle angoisse. Aussi prenez des photos pour vous dédouaner. A l'entrée on nous accueille et à la sortie, personne pour faire l'état des lieux. Si anomalies, ce fera pas contradictoire, donc à votre charge. Il faut payer 15 jours avant pour la caution et il faut relancer pour le remboursement.

We do not recommend this property at all. The worst of a long list of issues is there is a terrible mould smell about which the property agent lied when asked before we booked if it had been fixed, they were hostile and dismissive when we asked for help dealing with it, then tried to withhold part of the damage deposit because we complained to booking.com It’s a shame the owners picked such a terrible agent. Other than the mould smell, and with some minor adjustments, the apartment would not be too bad for a short stay, but it is definitely not “as advertised”. The “well equipped” kitchen has 1 small pot and 1 small sauté pan and very few, very basic cooking implements. The “patio” is just that – an open-air empty box, with no furnishings and not even a clothesline or clothes rack to dry or air things out. We hesitated to ask for any assistance due to the agent. The shower drained slowly, then stopped. The pod coffee machine didn’t work, but our complaint got no response. Luis looked at the machine when he came to fix the drain two days after we alerted them to the blockage. He agreed the coffee machine didn’t work and said we were better off to drink our own anyway. He tried to get us access to the wifi extender in the back, but after several attempts over a few days we were still not able to get internet in the back. The toilet seat is not securely attached to the bowl and wobbles around. The toilet brush handle is broken. There was only 1 remote that worked for the 3 air conditioners. I could say more but for the limit here on character counts. Booking.com is opening itself up to reputation risk by allowing agents like this to continue to trade on the platform, and they are doing a big disservice to clients. We were terribly stressed throughout our two-week stay, in addition to the oppressive smell as a constant reminder that we’d been duped. Booking.com should not allow this agent to sell through the platform as they are unprofessional, dishonest and abusive.

As my flight arrived early and I asked if it was possible to stow my bags before check-in, Luis kindly allowed me to move in early as it was ready early. He was also responsive, reaching out early before arrival and responding promptly to questions. The facility was nice and comfy, w/a supermarket around the corner, walking distance to bus/metro and places of interests...

Facility has a mold issue behind the walls. With window and backyard door open, the cross wind not only cooled the place but cleared the air too...

All the room, facilities and renovations are new and good. The apartments is very comfortable for sleeping especially the aircon which is functioned well. I love both of the mirror's place which make me convenient on doing my make up and the light reflection was working so well. Although the hot water for shower might take longer time to prepare. I always shower with cold water after my friend's bath. But during summer period, it is not a big deal.

However, the time I arrived at the apartment is almost midnight, I got shocked due to the environment which is no light surrounding at the apartment. Some more, the bolt driver dropped us at the back alley and asked us to walk along the street by ourselves to look for our accommodations. It is quite terrible at the moment.

Location was good, walking distance to the city center and metro. Wired internet + screen/keyboard/mouse was provided, great for remote working. Parking was difficult, but this is how it is in Lisbon, not the hosts fault.

Apartment was not cleaned very well, a lot of dust, especially under the bed. The apartment had a strong smell of mold, which the host had tried to cover up with scented oils. Mold smells cannot be removed or covered up; the mold itself has to be removed. Please note that people can be sensitive to mold smells and can get sick from it. Prolonged exposure to molds can be dangerous to people's health! Having to pay a deposit was bothersome and unnecessary.
