"Perfection in a tent"

10.0

The bed & bedding were so luxurious, as were the gorgeous toiletries provided. Loved simple extras like olive oil & salt/pepper, great for use with bbq The peace and tranquility was exquisite

The only thing that could have improved my stay was a wine glass

"10 / 10 worth it."

9.0

The kitchen and bathroom were concrete construction which helped break up the "just a tent" feel. The entire tent was well laid out and its apparent that it was a well thought out build and not just some after thoughts. While all of the canvas walls have large zipper openings with screens on them, my favorite window was the one in the kitchen. It offered great unobstructed views of the mountains and sunrises, while making breakfast. The two mini split A/C units kept us plenty cool. On our last night, in April, we opened one of the zipper windows to allow the cool desert air to blow in and got a little too cold.

The single down side for me was that the mattress was softer than I like. My wife didn't like the noise from the tent caused by the wind at night. But, to be fair, we experienced very high winds in the area that day and night. There were ear plugs in the bathroom for the noise, if needed.

"Tha stay was a good experience."

7.0

The views were great- unfortunately we couldn’t star gaze due to the cloud cover.

There was no battery in the fire alarm, there was no hot water, the wood for the fire was an extra cost( if we were to have used it) especially at the cost for our two nights!

"Very enjoyable stay in a luxury cabin was very relaxing. Would highly recommend and we want to come back."

10.0

Roomy, well laid out, nice deck and view. Required all guests to be mindful of dark sky hours so we could enjoy the stars.

The property management had a shed at top of hill with a very sensitive motion sensor and very bright spotlight. Just going outside to run my telescope and camera set off the floodlight. Defeats the purpose of lights out rules.

"An interesting experience. Not sure that the juice was worth the squeeze."

8.0

Nice view and nicely appointed room. Great shower! Did some stargazing but with no help from the spotting scope.

Be forewarned about a 15-minute, 15 mph rough and rocky unpaved road to the tents. Spotting scope was unhelpful.

"We highly recommend Camp Elena for anyone traveling to Terlingua and the Big Bend National Park."

10.0

The setup of the tents was amazing. It cooled down enough at night to completely open the tents to see the mountains and stars. The location was also fantastic and while there were some cool looking options around, most were very close to the road.

There was no downside at all. The property was very accommodating with a change that we had to make at the last minute. Couldn't have been better to work with. Great staff.

"Great mountain view"

10.0

The scenic views and the feeling of a remote area but, actually being a couple of miles from supplies and food. It had a full bath, 2 burner kitchen and fridge. We cooked our food there.
