"Very different but customer service poor"

5.0

It was very peaceful and tranquil, nice place to relax even though I was there for work.

Code didn’t work for gate lock on 1st morning. Couldn’t get out for 50 mins. 7 messages to owner and a reply 9 hours later!! Apparently nothing wrong with code but then coincidental gate was wide open 8pm that evening and 1st thing the following morning. Was late for work so poor customer service..

"What a gem!"

9.0

Excellent communication, responsive host, beautiful room, the best minifridge ever! Excellent price - cheaper than Premier Inn for 10x better accommodation! Would definitely recommend.

I'd have loved it if spa stayed open longer as couldn't make use of it as arrived after 8pm. Padlock on gate & letting self in was a bit of a faff but not unreasonable given low number of rooms & additional effort to meet people

"Pleasant"

Location was good and room comfortable.

Breakfast was confusing as self catering with no explanation on how it worked. Shared bathroom with low water pressure in the shower. Very much self catering so not really suitable for business stay

"Enjoyed it, I will be taking my partner at somepoint."

10.0

Bed was extremely comfy, and the room had a nice light feel to it, which is really important as I suffer from a bad neck quite often. Woke up feeling refreshed after a long drive. The location was quiet, and there was plenty of fresh air to stretch my legs, which is a positive for me. The room was clean and a nice size. The breakfast was a decent size too.

Hard to say as was only there for one night. Met all my expectations. I would say, when booking lots of e-mails may be confusing for those who are not great with technology. Simplifying this part may be beneficial.

"A nice place ruined by poor management"

1.0

It is in a nice location. There is a cat on the farm.

Difficult to use app and hidden charge rather ruined the stay at the hotel. The amount of communication prior to arriving was excessive and annoying. In 20+ years of travelling I have never experienced quite such a difficult process for staying somewhere. There was an unprofessional passive aggressive style of communication from the owner that was unnecessary and not really appropriate for the hospitality industry. ;-) There was also uncomfortable and unwelcoming feeling about the manor. Almost every surface was covered in notes about how to behave and what to do. I get that it is someone's home but don't let it out if you don't want people staying there.
