Finest Retreats - Bwthyn Llechi, Slate Cottage

Mooi opgeknapte authentieke woning. Inrichting hedendaags maar goed passend bij de stijl van de omgeving en de woning. Comfortabel en alles binnen was schoon en netjes

Er is een buitenruimte/ patio achter het huis die op de foto’s heel leuk is ingericht, maar in de praktijk was dit verroest, verloederd en onbruikbaar. De kussens lagen zonder hoes in een schuurtje achter het huis. Ook komt de afvoer van de keuken uit op de patio en stinkt het behoorlijk waardoor buiten zitten sowieso niet prettig is. Erg jammer en ook misleidend. De voering onder de bank is stuk en is met geel zwart tape geprobeerd te repareren, maar dit komt eronder uit en ziet er slordig uit. We kregen maar 1 theedoek, 1 dun schoonmaakdoekje en. 2 handdoeken per persoon voor de hele week. Na navraag was dit alles wat er mogelijk was. Er was wel een wasmachine en volgens de informatie in de map in het huis zou er ook wasmiddel zijn, maar dat was er niet. Dit hebben we zelf gehaald en alles gewassen. Het raam bij de bank kan wel open, maar sluit niet goed. Een van de bijzetstoelen in de woonkamer is met zwarte tape provisorisch gerepareerd.

Decent sized bedrooms lovely enormous bathroom and had its own private outdoor area. Lovely neighbour just over the road, she was a very helpful person.

Could do with some more comfortable chairs in the front room. Family of 4 adults meant that one had to sit uncomfortably for the evening. It was rather cold on arrival. Could probably do with new pots and pans and utensils in the kitchen as they are rather grubby and partially broken. No working fireplace ☹️

No breakfast but lovely welcome pack plus tea coffee and milk supplied.

Stay 13th - 16th October 2024 A fair review of Slate Cottage & the property provider Finest Retreats A well anticipated stay with 2 Friends looking for some comfortable, clean, secure accommodation, what was provided was quite something different! On arrival on Sunday 13th October after a 6 1/2 drive we arrived to Leeds Steet. On reading the welcome pack it stated that the Street parking was limited which wasn’t an issue whatsoever. The Road was littered with rubbish which should have got alarm bells ringing but didn’t. We unloaded outside the Property and there was numerous spaces outside of the Cottage so we parked opposite. First impressions of the Cottage were initially good. It appeared Clean & Tidy. On closer inspection there was mould around the upstairs window frame, cigarette ends discarded in the rear Garden surrounded by numerous long weeds that had quite obviously been there for months along with an old piece of Wood strewn at the end of the garden which seemed destined for the Rubbish. Upon having a shower which was powerful, each time we used this the Bath leaked and flooded underneath the Bathroom sink, fairly annoying. We remained optimistic and had an early night due to climbing Snowdon the next Morning. After around 1 hr in Bed we were all awoken by loud aggressive knocking on the door of the premises. Quite apprehensive who it was not being from the area hesitantly made our way downstairs to which the person had gone. Upon trying to get back to sleep there was Car engines revving and people screaming and shouting. Maybe to be expected on a Friday & Saturday night but certainly not in the early hours of Monday Morning. Again around 1am we were again awoken by someone banging on the front door of the Cottage and again on going to the door the person had gone. Up for an early start to Climb Snowdon. We left at around 6.30am and a pleasant 45 min drive to Mount Snowdon where we parked.

Beautiful cottage, lots of kitchen utensils, tea and coffee provided, lovely welcome basket and good location

Just be aware the bathroom is downstairs, which may not suit some people
