Taiyo Hotel & Apartment

Friendly staff, always hot water for the shower or bath. Great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The second night I was attacked by red ants in the bed, lots of the vicious things. I reported it in the morning and that day they were having the routine insecticide spraying of the hotel. The next day we still had red ants, the next day red ants including the living area. The staff were very apologetic and moved us to a different apartment for our last night. The apartment they moved us to was the same type we booked but more clean, less wear and tear. Too much construction work around the hotel and everywhere. Breakfast was limited but fine for what we eat.

Location was fantastic. 2 minute walk to the beach and close to popular pick-up locations for tour buses. You can easily walk towards the town/away from the beach too and explore more local restaurants.

It is the only single nice building surrounded by a lot of construction and run down buildings. Can't really blame the hotel for this, I'm sure everything including the surrounds will feel more nicer in future. But stepping out at times there are a lot of garbage trucks, carts and random noise activities because this hotel sits in a corner adjacent to laneways and some unused/run-down lots of land. Also, unless you get to the roof-top, you don't really get a 'beach view' as this hotel sits about 2 streets away from the beach with buildings in between. From the highest level/rooftop, you can just see the top half of the sea and top of the palm trees along the beach. The hotel is only about 7 floors high including the rooftop pool.

This boutique hotel is in a great location close to restaurants and amenities. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The decor was sheek in the apartment and although small, the unit was well equipped with a washer and dryer for clothes too. Our unit had a beautiful view of the sea. Breakfast varied but options are limited for non meat eaters. The hotel offers organized tours at a reasonable rate. Tuan, the tour guide, is excellent!

Location is near to all the dining places, walking distance to spas and massage centers which offer pretty good rates and options. Loved the cleanliness and how well maintained the rooms are.

Nothing much except the hotel has no proper lobby for check-in cos the breakfast place is where the check in counter is. But we have no issues with that.

Food options must have more variety, but overall they are excellent 😊

Lovely welcoming staff, excellent location, spacious rooms, great breakfast. Such good value for money.
