First off, the communication from the hosts was fantastic! We were not only met by them personally to hand over the keys, but they offered us suggestions for restaurants, pubs, sights to see and things to do. It was a very personalized experience. The apartment was ready early, very clean and had everything that we needed. The best part was that it had 3 bathrooms for our family of five which made getting ready everyday very easy. The location was half of a block from the Royal Mile and maybe a 10 minute walk to the heart of Old Edinburgh.

The only thing we really found that we disliked was that the fridge had a very odd smell about it when we checked in as if it was cleaned with bleach. Very strong and pungent. We also tried to wash and dry our clothes, but found that the dryer cycle took an extremely long time to dry our clothes so we didn't use it again. These joint washer/dryer units seemed to be very prevalent in these UK apartments because we ran into them almost every place we stayed. Definitely not a deal breaker because the apartment had so much else to offer. Overall, a really great place and one that I would definitely recommend.

Very well thought out floorplan with plenty of space for our family (2 adults, 1 teen). The place is in a perfect spot to enjoy the Royal Mile, Calton Hill area and easy access to the rest of the city and Waverly. The host was absolutely lovely and made sure we had everything we needed, even provided tips on places to visit/eat etc. He also left umbrellas in the apartment just in case (although we were lucky and it didn't rain until we were heading out the final morning). It has three bathrooms- 2 en suite, 1 hallway. The ensuites have showers while the hall one has a sizeable tub for soaking after long walks in the hills! The kitchen also has all the bases covered with utensils, dishes, etc and they provide dishwasher tabs, cleaning items etc. There is also a great Cuisinart coffee maker with bean grinder but they kindly provided Illy grounds already. Its the little things! The living room is comfy and a nice area to relax- puzzles, guidebooks etc all present as well as throw blankets as it cools down in the evening. Parking is easy to access and a fob is provided. I would recommend highly!

Not a dislike, per se, as overall it was a really great place to stay and we will book again but worth noting the shower stalls in the en suite are a bit tight and also in need of a tidy on the silicone (mould is present but it's an easy fix!) and the place could use a paint but thats aesthetic rather than a huge dealbreaker. Their cleaners could do a better job, but overall, it was all good. The beds are doubles, so if you sleep next to a sprawler, be aware it may be a squeeze.

Location is great and using the apartment instead of a hotel when travelling with elderly family was so much nicer as it was home from home.

I personally would like a tv in the bedroom but that is a personal preference nothing to criticise regarding the property. Everything you needed thought about and available.
