Ashley Road Apartment 2

The TV had Netflix.

The photos of the apartment are not recent. The apartment has the cheapest of everything and is tired looking, feeling and smelling. All beds and the sofa, flooring and bathroom need replacing. I can see from other reviews that the bunkbeds have been broken and dangerous for at least two years; my son had to sleep on the saggy worn out sofa as risked falling from a height as there is no guard rail on top bunk (the mattress was wafer thin and a chip board had been laid underneath over broken slats). There are no photos of the exterior for a reason: it is rundown and filthy. The entrance reminded me of a house in multiple occupancy for families who were being housed temporarily and are on benefits. The entrance carpet was stained and everywhere stank of plug in air fresheners. My wife is asthmatic and she found the strong artificial smell everywhere over powering. It really smelt dreadful even when we unplugged them. The bathroom was rusty, paint peeling, limescaled and toilet seat wobbly. The cooker looked old and greasy and there wasn’t enough of any pans/trays/utensils to cook a meal from scratch. The beds all felt like worn out camp beds. No one slept well. The double glazing had condensation and didn’t prevent any noise from the very busy main road the apartment faces day and night. It clearly needs replacing as well as everything else. The blinds are so cheap they make the apartment dark and dingy in day but let the neon lights from the shops and sunlight in at night / from dawn. The kitchen tap dripped all night long. Another thing being reported for months / years reading other reviews. I wouldn’t stay here again for free. Everything needs decorating and replacing. Unless you are 18 years old and on a stag do, so expect / need absolute basics: avoid.

The apartment is roomy and has all the mod cons, perfect for a short stay and had car parking.

Some of the flooring and furniture is a bit worn, but otherwise a perfect location.

Great location and the facilities were good for self catering

Window in small room ready to fall off completely reported to the hosts my grandson and daughter were sleeping in that room and because the window wouldn’t close the had a draught and road noise. The bunk beds are very badly needing replaced they had to take the mattress on the floor at night to sleep. The radiator in the living room behind the settee is completely off the wall and the kitchen tap constantly drips. Will definitely use these apartments again but would hope that the maintenance issues have been resolved.

Bit noisy traffic and only venetian blinds could do with blackout blind and heavy curtains

From the moment we walked into the apartment we were happy with how clean and fresh everywhere was, The beds are so comfortable, I would highly recommend this place and will definitely book in the future.

I honestly can't fault this apartment, very happy.
