Location close to the centre of historic Chipping Campden(heart of the Cotswolds) was excellent. The cottage was clean, characterful and comfortable. Communication with Rosie the owner was great. "Beautiful cottage in wonderful Cotswold town!"

10.0

If you’re staying in the Cotswolds, look no further than this gem in Chipping Campden! We wanted to stay in a traditional stone cottage and extra bonus that it had a thatched roof. It’s located on a quiet back lane in the town and is maybe a 3 minute walk through the hotel gardens down the street to get to High Street. There are parking spaces just across the street from the cottage. Note: don’t park under the trees in the closest marked parking spaces across from the house because they drip sap. The garden in front of the house was just beautiful and we woke up to birdsong each morning. Sometimes we could hear a sheep’s baa from down the road. Walking through the front door, you are greeted by a super cozy living room and a kitchen full of windows and sunshine. And of course the very cool exposed wooden beams on both the lower and upper floors. There were a bunch of books and pamphlets in the living room and the tiny Oxford guidebook really helped me plan our trip there. A very cute twisting staircase leads upstairs to the modern bathroom and incredibly comfortable bedroom. The town is a great base for the region and big enough to have some choice in restaurants and shopping. Bromley’s is the place to go for your morning coffee, Bantam Tea Rooms for breakfast or lunch, and the Eight Bells for a pub dinner. We thought we wouldn’t make it there because online it said they were booked but they were happy to seat us at a table in the pub when we went in person. So cool to experience a pub from the 1300s! Rosie was a great host and responded quickly to any e-mails. We really hope to return to the fairy tale Cotswolds one day and would absolutely love to stay at this cottage again!

We liked everything! If I had to mention something it would be that the shower feels a little small, but I’m nitpicking here. It would be nice if laundry detergent packs were provided for the washer. Also, we couldn’t find the peanuts for the birdfeeder! But we weren’t in the cottage much to watch the birds and we also did not ask where they were.
