Le Pont Bungalow Cat Ba has clearly seen better days. From the moment you arrive, it feels more like a money-making operation than a welcoming stay. The price is far too high compared to the current standard. The rooms are worn down and only accessible via several steep steel staircases, which may be inconvenient for many guests. The restaurant has a cozy look, but the padded chairs are extremely uncomfortable — the seat depth is so short that you’re practically pushed out of the chair when sitting. Service is poor. Guests are often ignored and have to go up to the bar themselves to get the staff’s attention — both at check-in and during meals. Tables aren’t cleared, and the young staff seem confused, forgetting who ordered what and wandering around aimlessly. The included breakfast ends very early (around 9 a.m., if we recall correctly), so we chose to skip it all three days. While it’s not the hotel’s fault, the entire area around Le Pont is currently (Marts 2025) surrounded by intense construction of new hotels. The noise, dust, diesel fumes, and loss of natural surroundings have completely ruined the view and the atmosphere. The photos shown in the listing do not reflect reality — they present a peaceful natural location by the sea, which it no longer is.

Our room,  bungalow 4, was big,  had 2 beds,  a great shower, and nice toiletries.   The bed was comfortable The reception staff are helpful

If you value your sleep and a nice view on your holiday,  do not book this hotel  Even without the gigantic construction site in its doorstep,  I would rate this hotel only a 2.  With the noise and eyesore, which is no fault of its own,  I'm struggling even to say 1.  We got zero sleep because it has a direct view over the disgusting destruction of the bay;  and that is a 24-hour building site.  Noise from other guests was also bad So,  why 2 even without the construction?   It's almost as if the staff have given up caring about the hotel now.   Service was not great at all.  We had drinks in the bar and had to pay right away; we were not trusted to sign and add to our room.  As a hotel resident,  this felt very unfriendly    Each breakfast,  we set out our own table,  we had to ask for dishes and coffee cups.   These were very slow in coming once asked for.    The coffee was terrible, too.  The food was cold,  except for the pork porridge,  which was nice to be fair.  Fruit flies around the pastries were very off-putting, too. You could order dishes,  but I dread to think how long you would need to wait.    This hotel seems cheap,  but it is very overpriced due to everything I've mentioned.   I do feel for them regarding the construction because it is beyond their control. 

So crowded. According the constitution ,view is not available any more. Elevator not available and definitely you have problem with your things and luggage.

Constructuon work during whole day and night - impossible to sleep.

The location and views were excellent. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive. Breakfast was really good - pancakes were delicious and a good range of food available from the buffet.

The stairs (no lift) could be difficult for some travellers. There is major construction going on around the property from early morning (7am) until late at night (10:30pm) This is beyond the control of the hotel but is noisy and unsightly.

Beautiful location with lovely restaurant and outside seating areas.

Shame about construction work on the beach but this will be temporary and no fault of Le Pont Bungalow. It didn't spoil our stay at all.
