The Great Escape - Lakefront Rental with Views

Beautiful waterfront solitude. Amazing view with several outdoor spaces for lounging and stargazing. The fire table was our favorite evening gathering place. Lots of nearby options for groceries and food (fyi: a few of the really good local places - like Fish Camp - are cash or check only (ATMs on site)).

Everything was as described. The arcade game was a huge hit and there were puzzles and game that made for relaxing family time. The kitchen had the equipment needed for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. Stargazing from the deck at night was a blast! Hope to return in the summer to really enjoy the lake. Chris was a superb host!

The Great Escape was exactly that! On a beautiful lake with amazing scenery, it is very quiet and relaxing, but close enough to the main town of Inman to run and grab something from the store if needed! Main Street Inman had a great little shopping area, a soda fountain, and a street fair Friday night (not sure if this is a weekly thing). Everyone in the area was very kind and friendly! Chris, our host, was easy to get a hold of and very helpful with information about the area (where to shop for groceries, things to do in the area). There is also a board with local information pinned to it in the kitchen. You can tell it's an older home, with lots of charm and very well maintained. Unfortunately, we visited right after Hurricane Helene , so the private dock out to the water was inaccessible due to damage, but Chris gave us other options to access the water if we wanted to. Sitting on the large deck at night was one of my favorite things to do while there. The stars at night and the sounds of crickets were very relaxing. If I were a morning person, having my morning cup of coffee on the deck would probably be just as great! There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bathroom thats shared. Downstairs is a kids' room with 2 separate beds, games, a small table/chairs, and its own bathroom! You can definitely have adults stay down in that room, but it's themed for kids. All in all, it was a great weekend getaway! I wish we had more time in the area to explore! We were in the area for a wedding, but we may book another trip for a family vacation so we can have more time to enjoy.

The only thing I can say that was a minor inconvenience was running out if toilet paper...as a family of 6 we go through alot! LOL

I loved the lakefront!! It was beautiful.

I wish the inside was a bit more cozy but overall I enjoyed my stay!
