Chateau Eau Claire Unit 1, Stylish Condo Overlooking the River, Walking Distance to Downtown

Comfortable and easy to get to town, and the transportation provided by the city was excellent

Location was great -- very easy to walk to the center of Aspen, and right on the free city bus stop. Even though our unit was right by the road, we could not hear the road. The location is very scenic -- it's very relaxing to look at the river flowing right by the windows. Really loved eating breakfast while looking at rushing water and the snow on the banks. The unit has plenty of space to spread, the kitchen is large and well stocked.

While the unit is visibly dated, that alone is not an issue. The real trouble is that what separates you from the unit above is a thin ceiling / floor of one layer of wood planks. The people in the unit above us had a large dog with them. The dog needed to jump around at night or would drop things on the floor. Every one of those was a loud band that woke us up at night. One night, the people themselves decided to become nocturnal and seemingly did household chores in the middle of the night, including running laundry. As much as we really enjoyed the tranquil location, we couldn't sleep here because of all of the noise upstairs.
