Ok location, 2 stops with Renfe. Buy Barik card in the Tourist Info office near Abando station, or Bookstore on the Ground Floor of Abando (if it's open). Then the Renfe train will be much cheaper. Trains only to OrduÑa C3, they go every 20-30 minutes. Walk to the city center was also nice on the east river's side through a small park at first. Rooms are small, but enough for an overnight stay, shared bathroom had hot water, toilet paper. Kitchen had all we needed. Wifi was blazing fast (300/300 i think). I guess 45 EUR per night is an ok price for two nowadays for this.

Mentioning that my 3 year old son should not run around the corridor, because of other guests. Although he did that once and is mostly quiet anyways. They should mention then that kids are not welcome in this monastery, then I'd have booked something else, instead of always having to say to my kid: "don't speak in the corridor, auntie can hear", "why do you close the doors to the kitchen and open it up, it makes noise, we're in the monastery, remember?". He got it after some time, but the hassle of not feeling comfy is not worth it, i think. The isolation between 3 rooms are non existent. With 3 degree weather the heating was turned off in the corridor (turned it on, but in the evening everything was back to off). The kitchen is a cold place, without slippers with one small warmer mat. At least room heating was available and warm.

The room was spacious and the tv was very big. Opportunity to use the washing machine was super helpful. The view is of a beautiful park. Close to the tram to go straight into the city

Hard to check in and parking instruction were a bit confusing. The area is quite noisy and it’s easy to hear everyone in the apartment. There is only one bathroom but that didn’t cause an issue for us

You can actually walk to the old district by following the river and it is a pleasant walk of 30/ 40 minutes. Fully equipped kitchen , if you want to cook.

The owner does not live on the premises and there were problems when she was trying to open the place remotely. It took a long time. In the end she had to come and use her key. Giving info 24 hours in advance would be useful in case one does not have internet access when arriving.

The possibility of using the washing machine was great.

on the info never states that is a shared bathroom for 3 rooms. The lack of a private bathroom is terrible. If I was made aware of this I would never rented the room .

location is ok and it was clean

it was a disgrace that, at the time we booked, it was not pointed out that it was a shared homestay. I did not expect to share a pokey bathroom with 2 other unknown couples. I expect Booking.com to do some due diligence on the properties before hand. I’m not impressed.

didn’t have Aire conditioner. we were sweating . I guess we are used to the A/C.

We enjoyed our stay in Bilbao. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The only challenge was communication as we don’t speak Spanish and the host doesn’t speak English 😄 but it’s a good value for money, and I think we will come back :)
