The Wi-Fi in the room did not work

I was cycle touring and looking for a place to stay where I could keep my bike in the room, and it was too loaded to get upstairs. As far as that's concerned, it was fine. Coffee was available, which was good. There was a fridge in the room which some might find useful. There was cold water in there which was welcome. The chap who turned up to give me a key was friendly enough. It was clean and tidy. TV and AC worked.

I had no signal, so hadn't been able to give an arrival time so there was nobody there on arrival. That wasn't such a problem, but the phone number at booking.com came back number not available. There was another number on the door but nobody answered. I texted that I had arrived but didn't get a reply. The door was unlocked so I let myself in to get out of the blazing sun and waited. After a while, another guest appeared and gave me another phone number, which someone did answer. Eventually, someone arrived. I asked about breakfast and was given a number of prepacked breakfast goods to keep in my room. That was another 5 Euros. In the room, there was a fierce document about not stealing the remote control batteries, etc., the sort of thing you find in a homeless hostel. It gave a bad impression and I wondered what kind of people were using the place. In the morning, without anyone on reception I wasn't sure what to do with the key. A cleaner was in the building so I gave it to her. She wasn't very friendly about it. Lastly, security was awful. Anyone could have walked in and no staff were there. I think there were a couple of other rooms occupied My bike (which costs more than some cars) was in reception and I decided to get it into my room for that reason. It's also next to a very busy road.
