PONDOK KUNGKANG VILLA 2

These villas are amazing! Beautiful view over the valley and close enough to central Ubud to get a Grab conveniently. It was so peaceful we never wanted to leave. The staff were amazing and helped us organise breakfast, massages and local dinner. The pool, the bath, it was all so lovely. We can't wait to come back again! We had a perfect stay and couldn't recommend it more!

Could be a little cleaner and needs at some parts renovation. But other than that good for 2-3 night.

A breathtaking jungle escape near Ubud, the view alone is worth the stay – a lush, endless green panorama, spectacular, also in a tropical downpour, mesmerizing to watch from the bed or the small private pool. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a generous flower arrangement on the bed, a warm and personal touch that set the tone for the entire stay. The staff were simply wonderful: kind, gentle, always ready to help, and always with a big smile. Each day, a local woman came to place an offering by the pool, a quiet and beautiful ritual that added a special kind of magic to the experience. The room and bathroom are spacious, aesthetically designed in natural materials (huge bathtub with jungle view). Another highlight is the daily housekeeping service, which keeps everything spotless and ensures you always have fresh drinking water. Despite feeling like a jungle retreat, the location is incredibly convenient. The houses are secluded and absolutely quiet, but the location is actually just off the main street leading to Ubud Center, making it super easy to get here by car, motorbike, or a Grab motorbike taxi. Walking from the street to the villa requires climbing a series of bigger, uneven stairs. For me, it was a perfect little workout each day, but it’s worth noting for those who might have mobility issues. Personally, I found it part of the charm—like descending into a hidden paradise. Also within walking distance, there is a mini market, a laundry service, and a handful restaurants/warungs. Overall, this stay was a 10/10 value for money. It’s rare to find a place that is well connected to the center, secluded and also deeply embedded in pure nature.

There was a leak in the bedroom from the AC but more importantly there was no clean towels or cutlery..and no English speaking staff were available on site. The coordinator was managing the arrangements remotely and it was hard to get even food delivered as the 2 staff had to come to the road parking to show then the way into the compound as the villa was quite a walk down into the valley. There should be a warning that nobody is on site for those that book.
