SAJA Cottage, Gili Meno

The island life experience; close to the beach, lovely staff (not speaking much English but very willing to learn!). Lovely family and adorable daughter Vayana.

The owner was kind enough to offer us an extra matrass for the big cottage because we were family of 4. It was very close to the nice beach and also restaurants with delicious food.

The staff didn't speak a very good English and several times we have misunderstandings, for example the time of the breakfast and also when they should enter our cottage to fix the bathroom door. We really didn't like that the bathroom door was almost impossible to open or close. My husband had to lift it up as it is made from heavy wood, every time that anyone needed to use the bathroom. And it couldn't stay open because it half outside and mosquito would come in, lower part of the house doesn't have a mosquito net. I asked the owner why didn't she mentioned this door to us and she said it just happens but if you read the reviews on booking you see that we were not the only one complaining about it. She also said it takes time to get a carpenter on the island and that he has just arrived, but her husband told mine the evening before that his family came to help him fix it. Airco was leaking all night long which resulted in water dropping down the stairs a the whole stairs and some of our clothes were soaking wet. That the bathroom had only sea water to shower with we were fully aware but the pressure was so low that there was hardly any stream and it took several hours before the toilet reservoir was filled again. Not very handy when u share the house with more people that need to go to the toilet and it wouldn't flush. If you want to have a fresh water you have to buy it at the reception, would have been nice if there was bottle in the house for every customer that arrives here, certainly for the price you pay for this place. The sphere around this place is down to zero as mentioned in previous reviews and that is a pity. Breakfast was terrible, coffee not drinkable and you get a tost bread with an egg, no butter or anything. I have asked for warm water for tea, we had our own tea bags, but all we got were 3 dirty glasses with hardly warm water.

We loved the uniqueness of the cottage, and the friendly, lovely staff who made us feel so welcome. We also enjoyed being so close to the wonderful beach where we were able to easily hire snorkelling gear. We loved seeing the diversity of fish and turtles. Thank you!

The hut was great , it just wasn’t what I was expecting as in location and for the price!!

The area is not great!! Just grass and two other huts !! No pool and had to walk in dark back alley which wasn’t fun!! Also a power outage which made it hot in hut , no shower either due to power outage!! Rating of property 9 ( not accurate) more like a 6 ..

Very nice cottage to stay with 3 people

The cabana is beautiful and air-con really helps as it gets hot during the day.

It is really just one cabana. The hotel is in construction, other cabanas and a swimming pool are being built next to it. There was only one guy to take care of guests… Unfortunately we rented snorkelling masks that were not really working.. but gave them back. And there is a problem with sweet water supply at the moment, but the staff provided a bucket of fresh water upon request. It was ok, but based on previous guests comments, and the price I paid, I was expecting something better :(

I loved my stay at SAJA cottage! The cottage is beautiful and really comfortable, and the location is great (only a 2min walk to the beach with lots of nice restaurants nearby). It was a really quiet and peaceful stay. Simple but nice breakfast in the garden.

As in many places in Gili Meno there was no fresh water for showering / sink (only salty water). However after asking the staff provided a bucket of fresh water for me to rinse off after swimming, which was enough! :)
