Ashdown Forest character cottage, 18th Century

The property was beautiful, and the house was quaint and charming, with all the plusses and (a few) minuses that go along with that. It felt comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Paul was very helpful, always available to answer questions. Near the end of our stay the washing machine failed, so he took our laundry home and did it for us.

Due to it's age, the house had some quirks. The stairs to the bedroom were quite steep, and there weree small steps up or down in other places. It wasn't an issue for us, but it could be a tripping hazard for people with mobility issues or poor vision.

Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse de Paul et de sa femme.Ils étaient disponibles mais aussi discrets. Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous et avons pu nous reposer. Le cottage était parfaitement équipé , confortable et joliment décoré. Nous pensons y revenir car voila trois ans que nous passons nos vacances d'avril en Angleterre !

It is a very cosy, well equipped cottage with a wonderful garden and a very nice and helpful host. You can easily go in the woods. It’s also not too far to visit the seaside or do a day trip to London. We enjoyed it much and would like to come back another time.

Paul was so lovely and welcoming. We had some wine and fresh fruit on our arrival ( per our request ) The place is very clean and warm and clearly very well looked after . Got a beautiful garden to enjoy in the warns weather. The kitchen/diner is beautiful and got everything you need if you enjoy cooking ( like me ) The property has a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, large fridge/freezer . Very cosy and comfortable lounge . I couldn't recommend it enough. It's a great place to stay!

For people who is struggling walking up or down the stairs , it could be a bit uneasy as the steps are quite steep but there's a rail for added safety.

A lovely historical cottage in the forest is very picture perfect. The property was well equipped for our needs and had great outdoor space. Great location to get to many places and shops not to far away by car. Our hosts where very friendly and helpful.

The location was fantastic, situated almost in the forest with walks straight from the house, with beautiful gardens attached to the house. All facilities are modern and well maintained. The kitchen is large and well equipped very suitable for family self catering and the bathroom large and comfortable. Our stay was made even better thanks to the warm welcome and friendly neighbourliness of our host.

Internal steps a little steep and narrow but not a problem overall.

Lovely Cottage. Well situated. Very cosy. Landlord very thoughtful and never too much trouble.

The bedside lamps in the main bedroom need attention. Fixtures broken.

Lovely little cottage set in restful relaxing grounds. It was perfect for us to visit the many NT and other interesting sites in the area. Comfortable beds, hot water and showers that worked! Kitchen facilities were great and plenty of room to spread about. Good TV with Netflix. Village nearby for shopping, etc. We loved staying here.
