JOIVY Apt on the Coast of Portofino with Lovely View

You emailed me asking I send a passport photo ID via my mobile phone. Are you kidding? I wrote I could not do that. Then, it was the worst experience getting into the apt. Took 3 hours to find someone, contact the owner/manager for instructions, receive a code, and then the box would not open even with the correct code! This was unacceptable.

Amazing location.

1. Messy check-in procedure : As soon as we booked, we directly asked if an early check-in was possible. We had to re-ask a couple of times to get an answer: yes. We asked for the instructions to get in by message, nothing. 10mn before check in, under a pouring rain, we called to know how to get the instructions, and even with the reservations number, we had to re-explain all again about an early check in that was agreed... And finally got the instructions ! 2. No electricity for 8 hours during the day: so, 10AM we got in, but no electricity. Like no electricity at all, no lights, no kitchen working, no plugs. We directly inform the agency by message, check the electricity panel inside the appartement, sent a picture, it looks fine. They asked us to go check the electricity meters, we send pictures (bit weird to have to do that as a guest that pays quite a good amount of money, but we just wanted it fixed of course). They ask us to turn a meter on, we comment that it is weird because there is the name of a shop on it, but Altido insist to turn it on with nice gentle capital letters. 12PM: still no electricity, we go to the toilets with a torch. The agency tells us the maintenance team is on it, so we just leave to enjoy the day leaving the key in the keybox. 5PM: still nothing, we call again. Nobody seemed to have taken the case into account. We already exchanged messages and calls with 4 people, and it all starts all over again each time : "Did you check the panel?" "yes we sent pictures 7 hours ago..!!!". 6PM: we are now in the complete dark, and we finally get the instructions to turn the good meter (thanks Mike!!) Overall, the appartement is great, nice location, but the agency in charge is a mess. We traveled all around, and never experienced such a poor service. There is NO continuity at all between customer care.

Wonderfull view, spacious flat in the heart of Portofino

Beds are limited in confort no big size bed, just two small sizes. The kettle plug couldn't fit in Italian socket, so we couldn't use it.

Location was great

No WiFi which is not advised and really not acceptable these days. No hot water for some hours and had to climb a ladder (not my responsibility and dangerous) to find tap to turn on hot water. There is also a electric switch for boiler not marked and easily turned off by mistake. Power outlets do not take standard EU plug and had to use adapter. Lighting in the stairs is terrible and not safe. There is no switch to turn on stairs lights (it is dark even in the day near the apartment door. Only high up a few steps up is a switch and not marked. Guest is required to dispose of rubbish which should be part of cleaning. Location is fabulous.

Great spot/location to be for Portofino. The room had most of everything you would need for a short stay.

It was very hot and humid inside with just one window for air. The fan and dehumidifier they had on hand also did not work. So it was easy to sweat the whole night especially with it being August.

The location is exceptionally, beautiful views! Quirky & comfortable apartment.

It was no problem for my partner and me but some people might struggle carrying their luggage upstairs.
