Waterfront Private Apartment, 5 minutes from LLBean!

The description and house manual gave a great overview of what to expect — I did have trouble with the referenced links, but the hosts were very responsive and always sent answers and info promptly. This was a great place to stay not only for privacy and comfort (the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the sauna was a major perk for after long travel/full days), but also for proximity to Freeport (great local shopping) and several state parks and outdoor activities (we explored Wolfe’s Neck State Park, and also appreciated the access to kayaks!).

Not much! The height of the water access point did limit ideal kayaking times based on the tide (something we never consider back home in the Midwest!), so with our interest in kayaking, we had to adapt to planning our day around high tide (about a 2.5-hour window either side of high tide being described as ideal for being out). Also, having water shoes (or shoes that can get wet) was key, since even during high tide, we were wading through bog-type ground to put in. Not a major critique, just mentioning in case it could be helpful to others.

The sauna. It was very quiet! The owners weee very patient with me as I was having difficulty with the booking app. Very reasonably priced!

The apartment is on the smaller size. Would have liked to be closer to town.

The Apartment is great, it was super clean, the bed is huge and comfy and the patio is perfect for a morning coffee outside. It’s totally quiet and you can walk in 1 min down to the lake where you can enjoy a fireplace or just take the kayaks. The owners are really dog friendly but even without dog it’s a beautiful place for a weekend away from the hustle. The owners are super easy to talk to. The next city is just 10 min away where you can great breakfast at the bakeshop!

This place was amazing!! Very clean and peaceful!!
