VILLA LILOU, Splendide villa au centre de Grand Baie

We stayed for six nights at 'Villa Lilou' (H18) within the gated community of 'Clos du Littoral'. The villa's location is excellent. Just a few minutes away from the most beautiful beaches in the north of the island. There is also a large shopping center with a supermarket (SuperU) just around the corner. We saw almost everything the north has to offer and were never more than 20 minutes away from our accommodation. Communication via WhatsApp before and during our stay was good, fast & competent. The accommodation is beautiful and modern, as described in the pictures. One highlight was definitely the heated pool (which was not essential during our trip, but very welcome). Despite being a gated community, it feels very private and quiet there. A beautiful place to relax and calm down.

On the one hand, you can see that the furniture is getting a bit old. It's not dramatic, but the tables, chairs, couch, bed, etc. show certain signs of wear and tear that somewhat diminish the excellent first impression. An update would be welcome, especially in the outdoor area. The upholstery on the loungers was slightly moldy and the cushions were a bit dirty. On the other hand, the cleanliness was good, but mainly superficial. There were small stains on the bedspread, some mold, and cobwebs in the shower. These two aspects mean that you feel comfortable there, but not quite at home. Also the welcome on site (by another lady) was fine. However, we would have liked a little more warmth and a little more information about the villa.

Villa was modern with nice furniture

Location was so far away from anything. No services what so ever. Host wasnt very pleasant and was rushed so didnt give us enough info. Place was infested with stray cats (at least four kept breaking in all night). We had cockroaches, we saw a turtle in the garden not sure how it got there. The pool was freezing and not temp controlled.

Villa was fabulous, spacious and very comfortable, a well manicured landscaped garden and poolside deck perfect for parties. The conciege service was great with meen n greet plus maintenance matters promptly attended via Elliot. It is part of a large gated community of lovely villas managed centrally by Karens and her team. Perfect place to chill out, just a short drive from the main Grand Baie town and shopping areas. Couple of restaurants just outside the gated community.

Water spills out of the shower and wets rest if the bathroom. No place for toiletries near the shower.
