Tioman Cabana Bed & Breakfast

Gut gelegen mit schönem Strand. Das Essen war gut.

Die Sanitäranlagen waren grenzwertig (kaum Wasser beim Duschen), das Zimmer sehr staubig und die Decke klein. Das Personal war zwar korrekt, aber weder gastfreundlich noch engagiert – es wirkte, als wäre ihnen alles egal. Beim Restaurant mit sehr langen Wartezeiten und schlechtem Service.

Mr. Pek is great—so kind and friendly. The view from the café is spectacular. The hostel’s location right on the beach is fabulous.

As others have noted, the dorm is badly run down. Rusty, dirty bed frames; worn out mattresses and pillows; mildewy bed curtains; no individual bed lights and only a handful of power outlets for the whole dorm (10 beds), most of them far away from the beds themselves. Also no security: anyone can walk into the dorm off the beach or off the road, and many of the lockers were missing keys or functioning locks. Too bad—this could be a 10-star backpacker place otherwise!

Dépaysement total…. Notre chambre en front de mer était paradisiaque. L’équipe est aux petits soins!! On se sent privilégiés même si c’est pour le commerce. Le prêt de masques, paddle,…. C’est le top!!!! Et franchement le côté resto est de loin le plus varié et il y a en pour tous les goûts : moi je ne mange qu’Européen et mon mari s’adapte à la nourriture locale : Donc bon compromis!!!

So… I have quite mixed feelings about this place. Let’s start with the positive: - It is very well located, right on a gorgeous beach and just a few minutes walk from Tekek jetty. - The staff is super nice and friendly, the vibe is great - The lounge/common area is very chill and comfortable - The restaurant is really nice, with tasty and generous meals

Now with the negative: - The dorm is absolutely awful. It is dirty (we had spiders and huge cockroaches, toilets leaking, bad smells…)and needs to be renovated asap! - The beds (in the dorm) are not comfortable at all. I slept poorly the nights I was there - there is very little water pressure in the dorm bathroom, to the point where you can barely shower. Several of us ended up showering outside with the hose which was much nicer and efficient. - it’s very hard to get in contact with them. I tried calling several times the day I was supposed to arrive, no one answered the phone. When you send a message on Booking, they take 2 days to answer. And when we arrived and wanted to check in, we had to wait because there was no one at the reception (mind you there are only one or two ferries per day, the schedule is available, so everyone arrives at the same time for check in and it’s a predictable time, yet no one was available and we had to wait)

L'emplacement est idéal, dans le petit village de Tekek et proche du Jetty sans pour autant se faire sentir. L'hôtel donne directement sur la plage et leur restaurant est parfait pour le coucher de soleil notamment. La nourriture est très bonne et très bon marché ! L'équipe est très sympa, prête à aider pour quoi que ce soit ainsi que très compréhensive et flexible. Je recommande chaleureusement l'endroit !
