The location is the only positive of this property.

We booked this for one evening, as a group, for a base to explore Birmingham. CHECK - IN : This process was not as straight forward as others I have experienced in the past. Key needs to be collected from a shop, which is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. Despite receiving several emails from the host, I wasn’t sent a code, which I was asked for at the shop to release the key to me. I then had to try and get hold of the host for the code. This process was frustrating and can definitely be streamlined and improved. CLEANLINESS: The standard of cleanliness of the apartment was not good. The shower tray was dirty and did not even look like it had been given a cursory wipe, let alone a proper clean. There were several marks over the walls and the hob looked dirty and in disrepair. Two windows in the apartment could not be closed, which meant it was cold for those people sleeping in the those rooms. A few items in the apartment were broken, such as blinds and lamps. Out on the balcony a load of old/excess carpets had been dumped. Overall, it just looked as though it hadn’t been prepared for paying guests to arrive. OTHER: Ahead of our stay, I contacted the host to ask for one of the sofa beds to be made up or at the least, linen left so we could make it up ourselves. This hadn’t been done, which meant we went on the search and managed to find a spare duvet but no pillow. Additionally, barely enough toilet roll had been left for four adults sharing, even for one night. COMFORT: The beds themselves were not particularly comfortable and I don’t think anyone of us had a good night’s sleep. As we were staying for one evening and were out for most of the time, we didn’t bother to contact the host and we just got on with it. Had we booked several nights, we would have asked for a move or a refund, as there was no way any of us would shower or feel relaxed in the space.
