Yamadasan Ski Lodge - Madarao

Location was amazing. Toby and staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, made our stay very enjoyable! Our room was spacious and the beds were comfy. Would return to this property next time!

The rooms were large and we each got our own small bed. The facilities are basic but clean and comfortable and the staff and other guests made it a very welcoming experience. A short walk to the base to start skiing and an easy walk or ski down at the end of the day. Madarao doesn't have a lot of restaurants or night life but the vibe is chill and the skiing was amazing

Not a ton of services, and there are only a few onsen (there isn't one at the hotel) in town or a short drive away.

We had a wonderful stay at Yamadsan Ski Lodge! The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after long skiing days. Bettie and Ben were exceptionally kind and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, a fantastic experience—I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended.

Location was perfect, short walk to the lifts. Super easy with two kids. Staff were amazing. Very friendly, helpful and informative.

Ben and Bettie were great hosts that were welcoming and helpful in advice for the mountain. A very homey feel with many communal spaces for all to use. Breakfast was provided each morning and snacks including miso, tea, coffee, bread, spreads, and more was always available.

Omelettes were server for breakfast which were tasty

breakfast was fabulous - staff were very attentive and caring.

there was nowhere to dry clothes and the 'dry room' heaters were not working so we had to have the heater in our room on all night to dry our clothes :(
