The Jungalow Entire Family Home By The Sea

Our host, Jenny, met us at the property. Jenny was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us a brilliant tour of 'Jungalow', her animal-themed dormer bungalow. This is very much a dog-friendly property. The eaves of the original bungalow had been converted into two en suite bedrooms, which was a perfect family unit for our son, daughter-in-law and our grandchildren. My mother-in-law has some difficulty with mobility, and was very comfortable in one of the two very good sized double bedrooms on the ground floor. We stayed in the other ground floor double, which had a huge window with views over the stunning garden. All of the bedrooms were well decorated and furnished. The large kitchen diner was extremely well-equipped and Jenny had kindly left us some cereals, pastries, butter, preserves, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a very tasty bottle of fizz! Also provided were dog treats and laundry facilities in the utility space. The living room and conservatory were both very comfortable and well furnished. There was a little snug / games room with a sofa bed, PS3, TV, lots of films and games available if needed. Also on the ground floor was a very good wet room with excellent shower, also a standalone jacuzzi bath! Added extras were Molton Brown shower gels, hair products from Jenny's salon and lovely fluffy towels. The wifi connection throughout was quite stable. The garden is very beautiful and private with a mainly lawned area, containing a hot tub. On the paved areas, there is various outdoor seating and a gas barbecue, with a dining table under a shady tree, to seat 8 people. There is a wide variety of places to sit, to eat and to relax in both the house and the garden. Jenny's Mum met us to hand over the keys on our departure, another very friendly lady. The property is about a 20 minute drive to the main town of Scarborough. A fabulous find!

The outdoor seating is quite low, which my mother-in-law struggled to get in and out of due to mobility difficulties.

Liked the quirkiness of the decor, well equipped kitchen, all we needed for the stay. Hot tub is a great feature, garden enclosed safe for kids and dogs

I think the paving outside was dangerous especially in front of the lounge window, uneven surfaces around the building in need of attention definitely needs attention

2 of the bathrooms didn’t have doors. We were staying with a group of friends so just had to be a little organised.
